i was in a gang...f#$%ed up my whole life....I think it was wanting to be a part of something..I was shot 3 times stabbed in the head ,back and arms..did drugs started out with pot,and advanced to PCP...went to prison and some where in between ended up homeless.I finally decided to hang up my guns...if i could do it all over again i would of went to college,.Now it makes me sick to see kids waste there lives on a false dream.it took a lot of little steps to get to where i am at now.Not every one makes it out. i could of died in prison many times..i prayed to GOD not to let me die there.In prison they can sense fear..some times you cant fake being Tough..sometimes fear will keep you alive..if your wise ..you ll stay clear of gangs..GOD BLESS

Not everyone thinks that being in a gang is kool. Even the people that are in them sometimes don't want to be. Alot of the kids in gangs get jumped in, (beat by the other gang members) and they have no other choice but to gang bang.
Then of course there are other people that think it is great. These ones are kids who most likely come from homes where they have no love, or their parents are so far gone that they don't even remember they have a kid. These kids get into the gangs so that they have somewhere to call home. they have some sort of people who they believe love and care about them.

maybe the same way people think its kool to spell cool that way and come as kum....
gangs is actually a safty type thing. as a lone person a gang can be intimerdating and this impowers them. after all fighting 1 man isnt as hard when your 12 friends are helping.

Partly because of television. And partly because they come from a background where they have no hope for the future, and gangs seem like a way to get money and respect. And partly because that's what the other people they know are doing.
But most people don't think being in gangs is a cool thing to do.

i dont think its the kool thing to do. I think its an either join the gang or get the **** kicked out of you by your enemies

i don't know why either! it seems scary. it's like, once you join, you can never quit when you figure out that it was a bad choice to make. they will kill you if you try to leave . and you can't have any family, heavens no! you don't want your little "pals" coming to your house to kill your wife/husband or baby
