Being there for a little over a year in the US Army with 1st Infantry Division I found a good comparison of Iraq to another part of the world... the US to be more specific. For those that haven't been to Iraq (fortunately for you), a good comparison of Iraq (to me at least) would be Compton, CA. There are 2 minor exceptions though: insurgents don't wear wifebeater tank tops and pants that hang around their knees... and they're middle-eastern not african-american. Other than that, it's pretty similar... of course the cause for the violence is pretty different too but I assumed that would be obvious and would require no explanation. Would that be a fair comparison???

This is sort of an off topic question, but this section of Yahoo answers gets the most hits, so I will ask this here.
I hope you don't mind.
I'm in college and I am thinking of seeing if I can get a prescription of Ritalin from my doctor. So that I can focus better and study better. Because I hear other students say they take it and it helps them focus better when they have a paper to write of long chapter to read.
What is your opinion, should I see if my doctor will write it? Should I get it so that I can get an academic edge over other students.

I am considered well educated, my voice is slightly high pitched at about a tenor range, I practice good hygeine (I'm a bit of a germophobe because I study microbiology and bacteria all day) I've been told I dress well, although I just wear what's comfortable, and I've been told I have a warm personality. So..tell me, WHY does everyone think I'm gay?! Will these stereotypes EVER go away? If you are all of the above things I just mentioned, EVERYONE think I'm gay. The truth is, I'm not. I'm actually a transsexual female to male. So not only were people getting the wrong impression BEFORE my transition, they're STILL getting the wrong impresion AFTER my transition about my sexual preference. Is there any way to fix this? Is it wrong for a guy to be short, well dressed, well educated, considerate, with a semi high pitched voice and STILL like GIRLS? It's getting to the point where I'm afraid to go out to the gay clubs with my old lesbian friends because gay men always hit on me.

Some prophecys in the quran and other sources are coming true and they are scaring the **** out of me. Like it is said that we will be able to see our wife in our palm of our hand (camera phones), building will touch the clouds (skyscrappers), and these prophecys were made when ppl were living in tents and small houses around 700 A.D.
Your thoughts? please? and their are other prophecys of how the jews will capture jeursalem for the 3rd time before a great war. And guess what.. its the 3rd time already.

I do have a biological gender, but I can neither identify with my own gender nor the opposite gender. I feel like I'm somewhere in the middle, kind of genderless or something, and I don't seem to fit into any group, I'm always the freak who is nothing like the rest. I have never met anyone who understands this. Does somebody else here feel like this, like you don't have any gender identity at all?

Checking the definition for "fear", I find no basis for believing it means "respect" -except- when it comes to "fear of God".

"Fear", as it pertains to God, has no relationship with "Fear" as it pertains to -every- other definition of the word.

Isn't this a matter of convenience, to avoid the idea that a loving God should be feared? Every other definition describes "Fear" as an emotional response to danger.

If the translators of the KJV had intended "fear" to be understood as "respect, reverence", then why not say so plainly, rather than inventing a new definition for the word that has no bearing on all other definitions for that word?

And what other words fit this description? What other words are used where the definition as it pertains to God has no relationship with all other definitions for these words as it pertains to our daily lives?

Why place faith in a book that uses common words whose unique definitions have no relationship with their common definitions?

My deceased boyfriend had 5 Tattoos
1.Upper Right Arm: A Cross
2.Lower Right Arm:Nate(his name)
3.Upper Left Arm:A Knife being stabbed in the earth
4.Lower Left Arm:Barbed Wire circling the words'Me Against The World'
5.Right Calf:Barbed Wire
He was 27 when he was murdered and said these were all tattoos he got when he was 18-21 and he explained 2 me b4 his death the one of the knife and the earth is how is gonna take the world out. But it was the exact way he was taken out this world, he was stabbed seven times.
He never elaborated on the other tattoos.I am just lookin 4 opinions from others on what these tats could have meant @ the time.
1.Do u think tats have anything 2 do with ur eternal resting place?
2.There is an obvious connection with his death and his tattoo. Plz give ur opinion.

All we hear is about Democrats want abortions, that is ridiculous.
I am not Republican or Democrat but Why during the current administration were there more abortions? If the Republicans are so against them and with them in office we don't have abortions everyone was saying but that is like everything else a lie.
