Your god is like a kid with a magnifying glass, threatening to fry the ants who don't worship him. And you don't see the incongruity between a god who created a hell for unbelievers, and a god of infinite love and compassion.

You don't even see the pettiness in the concept of a god who is willing to burn ants for not worshipping him.

You claim we all have free choice, but how free is the choice when one leads to your heaven and the other leads to your hell? What sane person deliberately chooses a hell over a heaven? And you don't see the coercion in such a choice.

And to point these simple truths out means I'm either stupid, or in league with Satan. And you don't see how self-serving are these assumptions either.

You talk of loving the sinner but hating the sin, as if a human and his/her beliefs are two different things. We are what we believe, there can be no hating of "sin" without hating the "sinner" too. But you don't get that either.

I act from the Love within me...

if a muslim dies fighting for muhammad that he will be rewarded in heaven with 7 virgins? If so, is that it, 7 virgins? You mean they're not even told if they will be male or female or even human virgins? I don't really think it matters to them animals anyways.

" Is the Lord's power limited? Now you shall see whether my word will come true for you or not." -Numbers 11:23 (NRSV)

Even though Moses had a close relationship with God he still doubted. Similary, though they had witnessed miracle after miracle, the disciples were uncertain that Jesus could feed a crowd of thousands.
Amazingly, no matter how close we are to God, we may still doubt God's ability to solve our problems.
There is no limit to God's power. Jesus said, "What is impossible for mortals is possible for God" (Luke 18:27).
How many times does God have to tell us and show us before we believe?
Prayer:
Dear God, help us to trust in your ability to guide us through every crisis and challenge in our lives. Jesus' name we pray. Amen.

Have we been assimilated into the Boomer world? I look around and it seems like everyone is older or younger than me. I started out on classic rock, grew up with the Police, Ozzy, Pat Benatar...and found alternative to be the voice I could relate to in my twenties. Now I look around and I can not tell who still listens to Nirvana, Pearl Jam, STP... I am not making any judgements, just confused. If I saw you on the street, how would I know you?

why is there such a marked difference between the reactions of Muslims against criticisms of their religion and the reactions of people of other religions. Westerners are exposed to pictures of islamic militants shooting dummies with the cross on it and hear speeches of prominant hard-line muslum clerics stating that indfidels should be killed. Yet the Western reaction is quite different. The pope and the cartoons printed in European newspapers about 6 months ago made a valid social criticism about the relationship between Islam and violence. So, after the catroons were printed, why did Muslims react with violent protests that killed many and damaged property? (seems kind of counter-intuitive if you want to dispell stereotypes) Why is the Muslim reaction so strong to the Pope's remarks. Why do hard-line government officials (in iran and pakistan) demand an apology when they themselves have made comments that are just as inflamatory about Christianity?

Why do muslims, and not all of them, but from what I've seen, a good bit of muslims tend to respond to the Pope's statements, as well as danish cartoons and the like, with violence instead of diplomacy, negotiations, ignoring it, counter arguing it, or even more so sanctions or the like. Why violence? It doesn't help further their argument any...

As I understand it, we're all supposedly born separated from god. only accepting a belief that Jesus was the son of god and died for our sins reconnects us with god.

But if that were true, then nobody would be born, for separation from god is supposed to bring death.

So either there is a problem with the belief that separation from god means death, or there is a problem with our belief that we are alive.

... have done something with his almightly powers to stop all those deaths on 911? i see, so they had to die so that this so-called god could be seen to be consistent in his granting of free-will.
