I am a bisexual girl in a loving relationship with a woman. My girlfriend and I always laugh on how men always hit on her, while I get hit on by women all the time. I think I am super femme, but maybe I look more dykeish than I think? Or do I just give out some strong lesbian pheronomes? =D

Who has made the sea and land?
Who holds it all in His hand?
Who makes His voice like thunder?
Who fills my heart with wonder?

Who breaks the swords of sorrow?
Who signs a storm with a rainbow?
Who sends the lightning on its way?
Who fills my heart with praise?

Who holds the heavens in His hand?
Who conquered death with a Lamb?
Who cleanses sin with his blood?
Who is the God of love?

I'm not comfortable with that, because there's no one particular black person I can point to right know with whom I currently keep in touch. There are plenty among my Internet friends, but I tend to forget what race someone is when I don't see them. And I enjoy talking to the bus drivers, which come in all flavors. We have a good crop of bus drivers here.

So how can I say, I'm here, I love you in the abstract as my fellow humans, but I'm different. No, I don't like the same music, but I seldom play my CD player at all. Yes, I'm fussy about real English, because I think communication is very important. So how do I get comfortable with my "credentials" as an anti-racist if I don't have a close personal friend who is black?

Or is my being uncomfortable part of the "fee" even nice white people have to pay?

When we were kids playing games, when we screwed up we would shout "do-over!" . If you had the opportunity to "do-over" any part or all of your life, what would you change, or "do-over"?

1st a premise - Most scientists are athiest or agnostic. If you disagree, ignore this question.

Last night on the Science Channel, there was a documentary on the "discovery" of nanobes - extra small structures - maybe bacteria being observed in rock formations. These resemble those same structures found in the "mars meteorite" discovered in '96.

It was amazing to see the frantic state of these scientists (c'mon, admit it, most are athiest or agnostic) seeking to prove that this was a new life form. These people were so desperate that they accepted contaminated DNA as possible evidence.

All because - golly if these are life forms, and they kinda look like those seen in the alleged "Mars meteorite" then darn it, we can prove all those creationists and Christians wrong!

Same attitude with SETI. "Lets spend billions of dollars and over 20 years to disprove those darn Christians"

I thought athiests were supposed to be confident in what they believed.

I strongly believe in past lives and I know it sounds horrific but I believe that I was murdered. I believe this due to the dreams and fears that I have in my current life.

I'm a native Floridian--tenth-generation Cracker--and I have the twang in my voice to prove it. It's also the Southernmost state in the continental US, and my father's relatives are all proud to be Southern. So why would someone say something like, as I got today, "Florida is the southernmost Yankee state?"

2006-09-15 03:39:32 · 29 answers · asked by Anonymous in Religion & Spirituality

I just answered someone elses question similar to this and I was wondering how you might recognize God in your daily life.

For me:
He speaks to me with every breath I breathe, for He gives me life.

He speaks to me with the rise of every sun, and moon, for He is my day and my night.

He speaks to me when the flowers bloom and leaves fall, for He is my season's changed.

He speaks to me from the mountain tops and the valleys low, the rivers long and the oceans wide, He is my majesty.

He is the Almighty, who is and was and is to come. He is everywhere, from everlasting to everlasting. He simply is and He simply speaks, (In that "still small voice") we just need to be still and listen and know that He alone is God.
