I just answered someone elses question similar to this and I was wondering how you might recognize God in your daily life.
For me:
He speaks to me with every breath I breathe, for He gives me life.
He speaks to me with the rise of every sun, and moon, for He is my day and my night.
He speaks to me when the flowers bloom and leaves fall, for He is my season's changed.
He speaks to me from the mountain tops and the valleys low, the rivers long and the oceans wide, He is my majesty.
He is the Almighty, who is and was and is to come. He is everywhere, from everlasting to everlasting. He simply is and He simply speaks, (In that "still small voice") we just need to be still and listen and know that He alone is God.

Rabitacular: ----That was actually clever and quite cute, though I do wish dearly that you knew Him better than that. :)

Mouthbreather77: You are right about all those horrors existing in our world today. Unfortunately they are a result of man's sins not God's perfect creation. I praise God for free will. I am just sorry man didn't know what to do with that gift. Praise Him for his provision in Christ Jesus who provides a way of escape from all of this mess we have made.

Markgarrett: Your comment is the beauty of the free will that God granted to all of us. As a follower of Jesus Christ I have chosen to live as He lived. Do I do that perfectly? Of course not always, but I try. One thing I do know for sure is that Jesus never forced anyone to choose Him. He shared and left the listener to his free will. Therefore I must do the same, respecting that free will that I believe God has blessed you with. I have shared an example of Christ in my life and now, I respect your choice made. I still, however, pray blessings upon you and yours.

I was told by my grandfather at three years old, given one of those book-tracts, and he read it to me. I understood it. How does a three year old understand such big words? Why did my daughter ask, at four years old to accept Jesus? Because He is the almighty and He speaks to your heart. I wasn't allowed to explore other religions because my dad is muslim. But somehow, by 18, I remembered a prayer I said at 3, and knew that Jesus is my Lord and Savior, he walks with me every step of the way, I can call on His name and feel His presence.

I do not know if God is "there." God is certainly not "here", and thus certainly not "everywhere." But I suppose he could be "there", wherever "there" is. You wouldn't happen to have his cellphone number?
It seems most likley to me that God is nowhere and you simply have a very active imagination. I assume when "God" "speaks" to you in all these places it's a private conversation that no one else hears? So it's just as likley that "you" are speaking to you in a slightly huskier and imposing sounding imaginary voice, isn't it? We certainly have no way to test unless God is giving you the Powerball numbers and you win.
When people have those private conversations in their head with somone no one else sees or hears, like Napoleon or Jim Morrison, as soon as they tell someone about it we sedate them and lock them away. But as long as it's "God" we only lock people up when "God" tells them to kill people in a MacDonalds, although not when "God" tells them to invade Iraq.
It seems to me that this world is exactly as it would be if God did not exist at all, or at least was away on extended leave. It seems to me that all the moral good that is done in the world is done by living, breathing, physcially detectable people, as is the moral evil. It seems to me that all the natural disasters and diseases we call "natural evil" are in fact not evil at all, but just are. In all this it seems to me that if there was no God, nothing would be different. People would still imagine there was a God, and it would still be people who do the evil and good or neither would get done. And since we have no testable proof that God is "here", "there", or "anywhere", or that our assuming God is "nowhere" has any measurable consequence, I think I'll just go on about the business of life from the point of view that "wherever" God may be, if God indeed is, God is irrelevant and thus his whereabouts are irrelevant as well.

Because he lets pedophiles marry 13 year old girls in the American South. John Mark Karr was legally married to a 13 year old. Yet President Bush doesn't act to make this illegal? Child pornography and prostitution is pretty much legal considering the ACLU defends pornography and interstate commerce prohibits a ban on 'escort services'? Why does God allow this? Because Jesus didn't say a word about polygamy, concubines, homosexuality, or marriage to thirteen year olds. God loves pedophiles and pimps and prostitutes and politicians because they are all the same.

Because I believe He is there and I have faith He is there. Also, because since I have chosen to believe, my life has been more fruitful. I have also been attacked more the closer I grow to God. That's how I know God is there.

I know God is there, because I have a relationship with Him. He is my Father, Saviour and Lord. I speak to Him, and He speaks to me. He answers my prayers, (not according to my will, but His), and I know His love - which is unconditional.

I know he's there because sometimes I'm really, really mad at him because of all the suffering in the world, so I'll throw a rock up in the air at him and he throws it back down at me.
