Don´t you see how ridiculously pathetic are the superstitions to which mankind give so much credit? I´m not proud of being human. I´d rather be anything else than having something to do with such a primitive bunch. Do you religious type even know what... say... a stromatolite is for example? Nooooooo... You´re too deep into your Jesus saving absurdity. For you the Earth is 6000 years old. Saved from what poor sobs?Unfortunately I´m stuck with you on the same planet. So I´ll keep trying to show you how beautiful life is without your mental god-garbage.
Best regards

Just something I noticed...I love it, can recite every line in it, and have come across many people who can do the same...and they're all gay! What's up with that?

Their a motorcycle club. I've talked to them for a while and they have asked me to join. I told them that I wasn't exactly a combat vet, that I was P.J. in the Air Force during the Vietnam war. They said that was close enough. Their really a great bunch of guys and I enjoy the comeraderie. I guess I'll join, what do you guys think?

Why or why not?

I'd like to see where people think morality ultimately stems from.

Was this someone that Jesus knew personally, and if so, when and where did they meet? Surely he was a historical person, because he is mentioned in the Bible, and we know that everything in the Bible really happened.

"Jesus continued: 'There was a man who had two sons.'" -Luke 15:11 (NIV). There is no mention of Jesus saying, "OK, here is a fictional story I'm using to illustrate a point: There was a man..." No, if Jesus said "There was a man..."; then there must have been a man, and he must have had two sons, who behaved exactly as described in Jesus' historical account.

Or is it possible that some stories in the Bible were actually intended as parables; metaphors we could use to help us lead better lives, but not to be taken as literal fact? Since it doesn't say specifically in Luke that the Prodigal Son is a parable, how do you know which other stories weren't also intended as metaphors? Like Genesis, for example.

Several new Research 2000 Polls conducted for the St. Louis Post-Dispatch and St. Louis television station KMOV focus on such issues as illegal immigration, concerns over the war in Iraq, fear of further terrorist attacks. A survey of Missourians' opinions on illegal immigration finds 47 percent of those polled support building a fence along the U.S. border with Mexico, 73 percent of Missourians polled want to deport illegals caught in the United States, 63 percent surveyed back the idea of imposing stricter penalties on employers who knowingly hire illegal immigrants. A poll on the war in Iraq indicates most Missourians surveyed don't think the effort to depose dictator Saddam Hussein was worth it. 38 percent of those surveyed believe going to war for regime change was worth it. 55 percent says it was not not. A poll of Missourians' attitudes on terrorism prevention efforts produces mixed results. 73 % of americans say deport. What do you say?

You died and went to God for judgment. Upon weighing your soul in the scales of worthiness, you're found to be so balanced between good and evil that not even the Almighty can decide whether you should spend eternity in Heaven or in Hell. So He sends you back to Earth and gives you a test to determine your merits.

The test is to determine which of two groups of people, vociferously and violently opposed to each other on a political controvery, is in the right. God tells you that one side is right, while the other side is wrong, but He doesn't give you a clue about which is which.

You have your own political beliefs, of course. But now an incorrect answer to God will send you to Hell for an eternity of torment, and you dare not base your answer on your preconceived opinions.

Now, temporarily reincarnated, you're in the crowd listening to a debate between spokesmen for the opposing sides. Each calls the other "ignorant." How do you find out who the "ignorant" group really is?

Jesus taught peace and love (which I believe in also) But there is also great violence done in the old testoment.
And I could be very mistaken but wasn't the reason Jesus told his disiple to put away his knife after cutting the pharises ear off because he had to let them capture him in order for prophesy to be fulfilled. Is it ok to defend yourself/ loved ones? I don't want to offend anyone but I need to figure this out once and for all. Thanks

If incest is so wrong and even "christians believe that" then how did the world get populated.

DO NOT get me wrong I think it is nasty but I believe it is a very valid question.

any of these really smart , brainy folks, who can't see past their own heads, can come up with any new stupidity, I mean questions.
It's always the same....can God, prove God, why would God.
They have had the answers and still choose to deny truth.

God healed me and science could not.....I'm I not really healed because a doctor didn't do it?

". . imagine a puddle waking up one morning and thinking, `This is an interesting world I find myself in, an interesting hole I find myself in, fits me rather neatly, doesn't it? In fact it fits me staggeringly well, must have been made to have me in it!' This is such a powerful idea that as the sun rises in the sky and the air heats up and as, gradually, the puddle gets smaller and smaller, it's still frantically hanging on to the notion that everything's going to be alright, because this world was meant to have him in it, was built to have him in it; so the moment he disappears catches him rather by surprise. I think this may be something we need to be on the watch out for."

I think that is says something interesting both about creationist thinking (the world is so perfectly suited to us that it proves ___) and the complacency of the world in terms of environmental changes.

I'm looking for a quote from the bible for a tattoo (a bible reference) I do have one but unfortunately everything applies except the last bit, 'yet he knew no violence' - a past that is long forgotten, and I've made my peace, but I need something that is very profound as it's going to be permanent!

Thanks

If you cannot defend your religion then your religion does not make sense. You only keep your beliefs to stay “closer to the herd.” That doesn't make you a coward, but how else can you reach your potential if you just do what your momma tells you to?

1. A preacher and his wife are very, very poor. They already have 14 kids. Now she finds out she’s pregnant with the 15th. They’re living in tremendous poverty. Considering their poverty and the excessive world population, would you consider recommending she get an abortion?

2. The father is always sick, the mother has TB. Of their four children, the first is blind, the second has died, the third is deaf, the fourth has TB. She finds she’s pregnant again. Given this extreme situation, would you consider recommending abortion?

3. A white man raped a 13-year-old black girl and she’s now pregnant. If you were her parents, would you consider recommending abortion?

4. A teenage girl is pregnant. She’s not married. Her fiancé is not the father of the baby, and he’s very upset. Would you recommend abortion?

Did you say YES to any of these ? If you did ~ In the first case, you would have killed John Wesley, one of the great evangelists in the 19th century. In the second case, you would have killed Beethoven. In the third case, you would have killed Ethel Waters, the great black gospel singer. If you said yes to the fourth case, you would have declared the murder of Jesus Christ!
God is the author of life, and He has givenevery single individual supreme value. Each life—whether inside or outside the womb—should therefore be valued by us. God knows the plans He has for each individual and has written in His book all the days ordained for us before one of them came to be. When we presume to know better than God who should be given life, we are putting ourselves in the place of God and are guilty of idolatry.
