Think about it seriously- whatever religion you associate yourself with, why all the serious ceremonies, rituals and all the other rubbish that's involved with it. If religion really is about making the most out of the life that you lead, why spend a huge chunk of it praying for salvation?

Forgive me, but it all seems a little silly.

Can I please ask that no religious fundamentalists answer this question. No offence, but you're biased.

As a Christian(any one can answer), I am not going to tell my children about Santa(the sleigh driving one), I will tell them about a man long ago who delivered needed items too the poor. What I want to know is why is Santa so important in our culture??? And don't say hope...if you need hope there is Christ..he is all the hope you(or children) need.

Okay, she told me I have to go out of Israel before 2022, because it will be no more . Yeah creepy! She told me she read a research about it, but I'm really freaked out now, and I do live in Israel.
I want to know more about this 'theory' that Israel will be no more by 2022.

We're a family of mixed religious background, Jewish and Catholic, and though we honor the holidays because of our family traditions, neither my husband nor I really believe in religion. Our son is now attending a British school where they have prayer, unlike the American system.
How can I respond to his questions about God and Heaven? I want to let him know that it isn't "factual," but to give him as much freedom of thought as possible in this area. Which is complicated by the fact that he still believes in other things like Santa Claus.
