If you are a true Christian then there shouldn't be any motives. If you are going just to be seen so that the priest will say, "That Joe, he is here every week" then you are doing nothing but placating your ego and that falls under the sin Vanity and or Pride. If you are going so that you think you are saving your soul but sit there and go through the motions of sit, kneel, stand, repeat … then you might as well stay home and sleep in. I never understood why people who said they were so dedicated to their faith always complained about "wasting" an hour once a week to go to church.
Then again, I am the product of a strict religious upbringing. What was the first thing that I did when I was allowed to attend services by myself? Take the donation money and go hang out playing video games. Maybe I'm not the best person to make a comment on this LOL

those that have been documented have additionally been disproved, from what I even have examine. Evangelists have been caught making use of on the spot earpieces, and being fed suggestions from greeters. Say I walk in to the revival, hoping to get healed of my kidney ailment. A smiling handsome guy greets me and welcomes me. As he leads me to my seat, he asks in a discount-chatty way, what brings me to the revival and that i say I even have lupus, an automobile-immune arthritic ailment. i do no longer see the microphone clipped to his lapel, yet Brother Joe-Bob hears each and every thing I say. Then, during the therapeutic service, Bro. J-B claims that "gawd" is telling him that there is a guy interior the objective audience with lupus and God needs him healed. and so on. An Easter Orthodox church right here in Texas became into caught those days too, while the government began investigating the "miracle" of a statue of the Blessed Virgin Mary, who became into crying authentic tears. They took samples of the tears, examined them, and located that they have got been cooking oil. They set up cameras and caught a monk making use of the cooking oil with a drugs dropper. those are in basic terms 2 i've got heard approximately and that i do no longer flow out of my thank you to look those products up. i'm constructive there are plenty extra that by no ability make it to the newspapers or information superhighway.

Of course we do.. it is to be with others who believe the way we do.. to make friends... and to learn... It is to follow the path that Jesus set out for us.. This is so that we have the support of our brothers and sisters in Christ.. And to share our faith... Just as others do in their circles... I have peace in my faith and in my Church I feel like I belong... I know that is what many people are looking for.. to fit in to have peace and to have support.. what more could we want in life.. it is tooo short to not have all this.... :)

There's a hot babe in the choir. Rumor has it she's naked under that robe. Sometimes we stifle a laugh when the preacher has to stay behind the podium until the swelling in his pants goes down.

I don't go any more. But with many its a habit and a social club. Also its what others do, simple as that. There are many stupid reasons to attend.
