To my Biblical knowledge it says in John 3:13 And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, [even] the Son of man which is in heaven.
And it says in
Thessalonians 4:16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
Thessalonians 4:17 Then we which are alive [and] remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

So where in the bible does it say that when you die you wake up in heaven?

I'm new to this denomination. I'm really having problems with our new pastor. I don't want to leave my church, but I really don't like this pastor and I'm having a hard time listening to him on Sunday mornings. He hasn't done anything illegal or immoral, but there have been some instances where I have felt that he hasn't been honest either directly or by omission. I don't feel comfortable taking communion because I feel anger in my heart toward him. I don't know who to turn to. Do I just have to wait it out and hope they move him the next time they do appointments, or is there someone I can talk to besides him. He tends to agree with whoever he is talking to and sometimes that means he tells one person one thing and another person something else.

Does God have a Vulcan mind meld with me?

Is there an opt out program so I can keep my thoughts private and not have to share them with your God?

And yes, I would prefer those of you who aren't laughing to hit the back button, and if that offends you, I'm very sorry,

I'm just curious with rules with hotels...

... are you allowed to pay in cash?
... do you have to be over a certain age to get a hotel room?
... do you need an ID to get a hotel room?
... can you rent a hotel room for a day?

I'd love to read about others' experiences with that style of worship, regardless of religion.

I'm Pagan; one of the things I love about it is that I get to move and chant and sing *all the time*. I love giving myself over to a group and becoming part of something bigger, all to praise something bigger yet.

I have felt spiritual--not happy, not having fun, *spiritual*--in nightclubs, concerts, and parties.

I loved singing and moving in an Assemblies of God church as a Christian, and would have felt so much better if there was more of that and less, you know, *talking*. I felt God was something to be excited about.

I have always believed that something powerful enters a room where everyone is united like that. I have always loved group energy and felt there was power in it. And...well, maybe it's just that I love music anyway. I sing and dance when I cook, too.

So what are your thoughts and experiences?

Matt-ch 12:40 "For, as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of the Fish, so will the Son of Man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth". This is supposed to be when Jesus was in the tomb for 3 days and 3 nights - but was it 3 days and 3 nights? Let's count: Friday night is 1 night, Saturday is 1 day, Saturday night is 1 night, Sunday morning he was out of the tomb. We have 2 nights and 1 day, not three days and three nights. If, however, you want to tell me Friday, Saturday, Sunday are the three days, I will add Friday night and Saturday night - this makes 3 days, but only 2 nights. No way out. What do you think? But please don't tell me the Jews consider 3 days and 3 nights as 3 days or some other funny period of time. Let's stick to the facts.
