Do you call it a "slice of bacon" or a "rasher"? Do you call it a "paper towel" or a "kitchen roll"? And where are you from?

My brother and I used to think that there was a monster called the "goony-gackter" that lived in the attic. It had four eyes and ate children. It would also set you on fire if you went up into the attic. How did we dream up this crap? I have no idea.

I am quoting a specific answer to the question "Is there really a god":

"I choose to believe there is a God for lots of reasons but mainly because I can't look around at the wonders of nature and see how it could all just evolve naturally. I can rationalize the need for lots of the ways we are but certain things just make no sense in any other context other than thru intelligent design.

Take music for example. What purpose could it possibly serve except to make us happy? How does it fit into the no-God evolutionary accidents of nature theory?

yes, there is a God. "

in my opinion, judging god's laws stated in the bible, God would have had to be very unintelligent to intentionally design beings as self-destructive, ignorant, and hateful as human beings.

any input would be appreciated.

People choose to believe that out of nothing this whole word evolved with people, animals, trees and all. This is more believable to them than a loving God who created us from the dust of the earth and breathe into our nostril and made us a living soul. I challenge all who believe in Evolution to come forward with your proof. If this big boom happened and everything came into existence, why has nothing like this ever happened again. If history has shown us anything, it is that history has a way of repeating itself. This is what the bible presents to us through the living God who made us and everything that does exist. People who don't believe that God exist and don't trust His word are the ones who are searching and grasping at strays of why something else had to have happened. I am only challenging that part of you that says that there is more than what I am being taught in school about Evolution. I challenge you to do your own research and test the scriptures in the word.

Does anybody else find it ironic that the brunt of Islamic hatred is focused on the US? When Islam pretty much would have become a nobody without the US developing a reason to use oil and a method for extracting it. Who benefits the most from those inventions? Islam can now sell that oil which it now owns most of , if I'm not mistaken, to the rest of the world thanks to the US. And the thanks the US gets is that Islamic terrorists slam planes into it's cities.

My husband and I are relocating and this move along with being in a wedding this year is going to cost ALOT of money which we are saving but as a result we will not have any money left to give presents expect to eachother. What is a kind way to tell our relatives we will not be exchanging gifts. I realize Jesus is the reason for Christmas but people tend to expect a gift, what are ways to deal with this I will be having a Christmas get together as well as giving very nice cards with thoughtful sayings. This will be the first year that we will not be doing gifts. How can we say this nicely but firmly we dont expect gifts in return I am in my late 30s and my husband is in his 40s.

Thank you and God bless you.

I do alot of interstate driving commuting to work. I can't help but notice front seat passengers and sometimes even drivers resting their nasty bare feet on the dashboard or hanging them out the window. It can't possibly be comfortable as I would have to be a contortionist to get my feet on my dashboard. I can only think that this is some sort of weird perverted fad, as I can never remember seeing anyone doing this more than five years ago. I wish idiots would quit doing this. It is extremely unsafe and I'm getting tired of looking at peoples nasty feet every day. It should be against the law in all 50 states!

it is my theory that all stupid people that are having kids at 16 and the intelligent people are waiting till mid 20's+ to have them. The problem being that if the stupid people's kids are having kids at 16 too at like twice the rate of intelligent people does that mean that sooner or later intelligent people will be outnumbered and eventually die out? and if so how can we stop this mindless mindlessness?

My boyfriends, very strict christian mom was cleaning up his room ( or so she says) and found a 12 pack of condoms with 7 missing. She called him frantic and screaming. She's hysterical and kicking him out of the house. We are both sophmore's in college almost 20. She really "liked" me. She probably hates me now. What should I do? I feel like I can never step foot in his house which sucks cause I was getting really close with his family. She's frantic and thinks we're awful. How can she ever just be okay with it? Or do I just have to stop?
