It's possible it may have been a dinosaur living in the sea. If you believe the Bible is the word of God, then the Earth is only about 6,000 years old, and dinosaurs would have lived along with people. The dragon legends may have arisen out of encounters with dinosaurs, and there are cave drawings of creatures that look like a brontosaurus, indicating people lived during the same time as the creatures.

Leviathon is not some huge mythological creature like some claim. The Bible is not a book of myth, it's a book of fact. The Leviathon, an animal common to places where the Bible was written, is nothing more than the Nile crocodile, and animal that can reach lengths of 20 feet or more.
The Bible uses symbolic language to describe the animal and because of this some think that it was a dragon. However, dragons never existed so obviously this couldn't be true.

Leviathan in the book of Job is Satan. His description is given in Job Chapter 41. I know many people don't believe this but take a look at this verse and it can only be one person. Job 41: 34 He beholdeth all high things: he is a king over all the children of pride. What is Satan called? He is called a serpent, dragon, god of this world and prince and power of the air. Isaiah 27: 1 In that day the LORD with his sore and great and strong sword shall punish leviathan the piercing serpent, even leviathan that crooked serpent; and he shall slay the dragon that is in the sea. At the white throne judgment God will judge Satan and them cast him into the lake of fire. Revelation 20: 10 And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.

I'm not sure but the lock ness monster does seem to fit what a leviathon is. Supposedly the leviathon, sea monster, is suppose to be slain in the end times and fed to the righteous.

I suspect it was a sea-going dinosaur, and the Loch Ness monster was a similar creature.

Leviathan (×Ö´×Ö°×Ö¸×ªÖ¸× "Twisted; coiled", Standard Hebrew Livyatan, Tiberian Hebrew LiwyÄṯÄn) was a Biblical sea monster referred to in the Old Testament (Psalms 74:13-14; Job 41; Isaiah 27:1).
The word leviathan has become synonymous with any large monster or creature. In Modern Hebrew, it simply means "whale".

Even if I did not believe in the Bible, the book of Job is one of the greatest pieces of literature that I have read. It tells you a lot about human nature.
Bible, references say that it was a gator or crock.

No one knows exactly when that book was written, but I always pictured a large dinosaur like the Brontosaurus.
