After all, "you" can't really exist if "you" aren't thinking.

Rubbish, all rubbish. There is no "you". That's the illusion!
Check out the words of U.G. Krishnamurti
"Every time a thought is born, you are born. When the thought is gone, you are gone. But the you does not let the thought go and what gives continuity to this you is the thinking. Actually, there is no permanent entity in you, no totality of all your thoughts and experiences. You think that there is somebody who is thinking your thoughts, somebody who is feeling your feelings. That's the illusion. I can say it is an illusion but it is not an illusion to you."

Sounds a bit like Rene Descartes - "I think therefore I am."
I don't think about breathing or blinking, yet they seem to occur. Are they only occurring because I am thinking?
Meditation is a form of mental exercise that delineates all thought. One does not need to be "thinking" to be (or not to be).

I don't need Descartes ("I think, therefore I am") to tell me that I exist. I am here because, to paraphrase the Blues Brothers, "I'm on a mission from God!" That mission doesn't stop simply because I'm not thinking. God is the center of the universe, not my mind!

what do u mean by go between thoughts ? my thoughts are always interlinked..so, i go from one thought to another with the links. that is what everybody does. even when we sleep our subconscious mind will be thinking. that is why sometimes when we sleep over a matter we find a solution after we wake up.

When you don't think, you still exist, you just don't know it, since we humans are half mind, half body.
Our minds can be inactive for a long time period(like in a coma), but they never die or get destroyed, even when our bodies are, since our minds are not physical like our bodies.

I go into ACTION on those thoughts. If they are negative thoughts I work on turning them around to positive. If they are positive thoughts I go out and share them with people.

My mind drifts to Fiji and to tropical winds and drinks with tiny umbrellas in them, and a buff native who falls magically in love with me after he wins the lottery.Well...you asked.
