I am quoting a specific answer to the question "Is there really a god":

"I choose to believe there is a God for lots of reasons but mainly because I can't look around at the wonders of nature and see how it could all just evolve naturally. I can rationalize the need for lots of the ways we are but certain things just make no sense in any other context other than thru intelligent design.

Take music for example. What purpose could it possibly serve except to make us happy? How does it fit into the no-God evolutionary accidents of nature theory?

yes, there is a God. "

in my opinion, judging god's laws stated in the bible, God would have had to be very unintelligent to intentionally design beings as self-destructive, ignorant, and hateful as human beings.

any input would be appreciated.

in fact, i believe the existance of humans further proves "evolutionary accidents" seeing as in our actions we prove to be inferior as a species (though superior as individuals) and fail to cooperate effectively with one another.

based on the current path we are following, the human race is destined to fail, allowing some other species to evolve and take our place.

In the answer it states "because I can't look around at the wonders of nature and see how it could all just evolve naturally". This is the statement upon which you base your belief, but tell me do you believe you know everything about nature and the laws that govern the universe, or that science has even discovered all these laws? You are attributing something you do not understand such as the creation of life and the universe to a being that you have created out of faith. Simply because something does not make sense is not reason to give it's occurance as a product of an all powerful being.

And using music as a type of proof for God is a trully absurd logic error. Music is a construction of society and culture and a result of human thought and creativity. Human thought and creativity are a result of millions of years of evolution resulting in a brain that can perceive the world around it and create ideas that never existed before. The functioning of the brain is a marvel of design but that does not mean that it is a creation of God.

It is our own drive for knowledge as a species that has resulted in our advances. It is because apes challenged their minds by learning how to use sticks as tools that we have advanced into what we are. I am not telling you God doesn't exist, but do not use God as an explanation for all that is not understood, if we are to advance as a society we must seek knowledge and not pacify our minds with easy answers such as the catch all " God did it".

I think that science has done a very good job explaining a lot of the natural world. I can't how some people can argue with proven observations.
Music is a man made prospective. There doesn't have to be a God for humans to search happiness. That's a part of who we are as the only creature on earth as mentally developed as we are. The same sounds that stimulate pleasure are similar but we do not all like the same music.
And I think you asked an interesting question. Why would God create something that needed laws to govern itself, why would God create self-destructive, ignorant, hateful beings. And then let them kill each other and destroy the planet.
This doesn't mean there isn't a God or higher force but what you have to ask is what kind of a person is it? Does it matter? Are we apart of some of Gods experiments?

I think religion is a belief system designed to teach how to live. Any religion, any faith, they all teach the same moral lessons. They all teach us to respect and love your neighbor, to not kill other and commit evil acts or not to lie, to be thankful for what you have, and to help other and your selves to live a fuller lives. They teach us that material possessions are not everything.
And why is it that every religion tries to teach the samething. Civilations seperated by millions of miles in remote location, in different periods of time all have similar moral lessons in their religion. Religions all created by man.

Part of our evolotion?

Read Joseph Campbell's "Power of Myth" and "A Hero with a Thousand Faces"

I am not a Christian and will never call myself one but I do know about this question.

Jacob did not wrestle an angel (as U2 states in Bullet the Blue Sky) he wrestled God. His WILL to overcome his adversary ended the match in a stalemate and God was pleased, thus, he renamed Jacob "Israel" which means "Struggle With God" in ancient Hebrew.
The biggest gift God gave to mankind was self-will, the ability to make up our own mind (even angels don't get to do that and the last that did were removed from the grace of God) and make our own choices.
I was thinking the same thing just the other night about evolution. All life was supposedly ended on Earth at one time (dinosaurs) and slowly creatures came out of the oceans and evolved into so many different things? Even evolution theory has its flaws and things it cannot explain. Man descended from apes/gorilla's/monkey's so why have the apes/gorilla's/monkey's that are on earth now changed so little since man discovered they existed? Some say it is because they are hidden from the world in their own habitat, but again, this rules out or questions evolution theory since there was no civilization when humans evolved either, only natural habitat.

We're self destructive becuase we choose to be self destructive. We could all choose to be constructive, but unfortunately some of us are on page 10 while others are still on previous pages 9 8 7 6 5 4 3 2 & 1. When we can learn to work together on something maybe eventually something good will come out of it.

I don't believe in creation(the biblical version) or intelligent design, but God created evolution IMHO.
I think he started the process and probably decided to give it free will.

I am suffering from a terminal genetic illness that will kill
me someday. If intelligent design is true, how come the human body has so many reliability and quality-control problems. Don't
give me the "It's God's will" crap when disease and suffering happens. For intelligent design to be true, one of these conditions
must be met.
1. God is incompetent
2. God is an asshole because he likes to see the suffering caused by his defective designs.
I don't think our Lord is like that.

If the Almighty had designed us, we would be perfect (physically at least).

It looks like evolution is more correct (I didn't say completely
correct, it's a theory that has alot more evidence to support it than Intelligent design) because of the randomness and imperfection occurring in biology.

Nature and god are an same aspect, so i do no longer see what each and each of the wrestle about? absolutely everyone thinks they're precise and they comprehend. Time, area, and all this seperation are phantasm. each little thing is created out of one ability, I say who cares what the hell they prepare in colleges at this factor. I mean come off it...its regularly all BS besides. I didnt learn something fairly worth my time in college. I realized more desirable from walking out deep in nature and ingesting scared mushrooms. That second replaced my existence, I easily have by no skill considered issues in quite an same way because that. Time, area, and the theory of the self melted away. i might want to make certain what became authentic and what became pretend. Whats pretend is way of what they prepare you in college....issues likes existence is about getting a job and attempting to make funds. If human beings truley have glimsed reality then you shhould be sicken through the international. I mean go searching, each city is strating to seem an same....walmart, mcdonalds, shitty housing delvopments. we are getting spiritually flat and a gaggle of sheep. Why are we tearing the forests all the way down to construct pespi cola flowers? shall we oepn are eyes and be conscious that we are getting a maximum cancers to earth.. maximum cancers is defined as cells that prepare features of out of control groth and intrusion. maximum cancers is to our body, as what we are getting to the earth. If it quite is authentic that it would want to or not it really is okay to ask that per chance we are basically a small section to something a lot higher? i mean do you imagine cells have any theory what they do is element of soemthing higher. What grasping human beings and maximum cancers cells, do no longer see, is in case you kill you palce for residing, then you are die besides. per chance it quite is how aspect should be....all aspect ought to bypass. each aspect ought to die, be it cells, animals, stars, or univeres. shall we stop the blame sport then ok? I mean we are all at fault, no individual team is accountable. It dosnt remember what you bealive, in only concerns the way you act

When you see a building without an architect or engineer or laborer who built it, let me know. If you see a bridge that serves some purpose but is built without a maker, let me know. When you see anything that is built by itself, let me know. If you see a stone that moves two inches from its place of its own accord without the effect of some external force let me know. If you see a wave that moves without the air, let me know. If you see any air that moves without the tilt of the earth at just the right angle let me know. If you see a plant that does not need sunlight let me know.

When you see the plant work with the soil, and plant and air and together blossom and become useful for an animal which becomes useful to a human being, you will certainly see a chain reaction that is interdependent across the gallactic vacumns and works perfectly together. When you see that our Earth has no accidents, only designs, you need to wonder if there is indeed a designer. How can we have only perfect systems and no accidents that prevail?

If you look deeply enough, you will see the Energy of the MOST HIGH in every atom and in every Sun. You will see in the beautiful movements of the electrons around the nucleus and the movement of the planets around the sun and the movement of the solar system around higher systems an order that is amazing at huge scales.

Surely we have some flawed human beings, to show that flaws can exist. But why are single men like Jesus Mohammad or Moses whose work is alive after many centuries, while yours and mine grandfather is forgotten soon after he passes away?

If you see in depth, you see the POWERFUL HAND of the MOST HIGH operative in everything. I hope you will one day see the reality!!

I think there maybe a god...50/50 chance, but it wouldn't be intelligent design. It would be stupid design that was sent through a gauntlet of trials and errors trillions of billions of them. In other words, the chimps the computer room finished writing shakespeare.

Your logic runs something like 'because humans are self-destructive, ignorant, and hateful now, God must have created them like that.'

If you study your Bible a little closer, you'll find that God created humans with a little something called free will. And we made the wrong choice. WE blew it, not God. After the fall God could have just thrown up his hands and said 'Forget it, these people are too far gone to worry about'. But instead, He cared enough about us to send an effective solution (Jesus) and in the end humanity would be even more glorified than before it fell in the garden of Eden. That's the reason for all those laws in the Bible; they're God's means of rectifying the inner evil of human nature.
