Me and my sister are arguing about this so I'm trying to find the answer

God's power & our supposely power of "free will" contradicts each other and the logic is this:

God is supposed to be omnipotent & all knowing, which must include knowing everything that happened in the past and everything that will happen in the future. If he knows the future, then he MUST have foreseen everything we will do in life, and ultimately, whether we will goto heaven or hell.

In that case, he would have known the ultimate fate of everyone of us before we were even born. (if he doesn't know then he's not omnipotent).

So the logic is simple & obvious, if there is a god, then there is no free will, coz everything we do has been foreseen by god and everything will unfold the way he sees it. Which means sinners fate are sealed at birth, with no way of escaping it... thus making god a sadist and not worth worshipping.

however, if there is free will, then god can't foresee the future and thus make god not omnipotent, not worth worshiping.

- serious answers please.

Most christians claim the old testament isn't what they follow. If this is the case, why is the old testament still part of their bible? And since it is the "infallible" word of their god, is not abiding by this book a ticket to hell? According to some passages in Leviticus, parents are supposed to kill unruly children, homosexuals are to be killed, adulterers are to be killed, etc, etc....

Christians have some nerve to claim islam is a religion of terror when christianity is probably worse.

Read everything before commenting.

Isaiah 42
1"Behold my servant, whom I uphold; mine elect, in whom my soul delighteth; I have put my spirit upon him: he shall bring forth judgment to the Gentiles."
His "elect" will stand against the antichrist; the false prophet.

2"He shall not cry, nor lift up, nor cause his voice to be heard in the street."

3"A bruised reed shall he not break, and the smoking flax shall he not quench: he shall bring forth judgment unto truth."

4"He shall not fail nor be discouraged, till he have set judgment in the earth: and the isles shall wait for his law."
Why do you want to be rapture away when Jesus is coming to set judgment "IN THE EARTH"?

Check it out for your self. Stand up and check it out for your self.
Preachers can and should be questioned. After all, they are only humans. Prove your preacher wrong or prove him/her right. Just, prove them. Study God's word. Don't be deceived. You can not blame your preacher on judgment day.

1: For this Melchiz'edek, king of Salem, priest of the Most High God, met Abraham returning from the slaughter of the kings and blessed him; 2: and to him Abraham apportioned a tenth part of everything. He is first, by translation of his name, king of righteousness, and then he is also king of Salem, that is, king of peace. 3: He is without father or mother or genealogy, and has neither beginning of days nor end of life, but resembling the Son of God he continues a priest for ever.

If I can live with just one and there are people out there looking for one I think it is only fair that I give them one. I know I will have to live healthier, but it is worth saving someones life.

Just a hypothetical question, but I'm curious.
Say there's a candidate (U.S.) that's running for an important national office. This person is of your race and gender, they have a undeniably great plan to improve the economy, they are intelligent and articulate, have ample experience with foreign relations and are well liked overseas, they are peace minded but not afraid to call on the military if it is required, and let's say they are even good looking and have a good sense of humor.

But this person takes a firm stance against the mixing of religion and government; such as no 10 commandments or nativity scenes on government property, no "faith based initiatives," no forced prayer or teaching of intelligent design in public schools... and they even would like to have "one nation under god" removed from the pledge. They are an admitted agnostic (not atheist).

Would you vote for a person such as this for an office like president, or even congressman or senator?

I know people who are VERY religious who always treat their families better than they treat strangers....because their families are their 'flesh and blood'. Isn't that just another way of saying that their kin carry their genes???

These people also admit that things like hair color, diseases, personality types, etc run in families. Why would God lump stuff like this in families and not spread it around evenly???

If thithes are of the first increases I feel that my income shows no increase. My church does not help me with my finances although I deparate need the help. Calling for finacial outreach help like (Salvation Army) has been a dead end, no funding is all I ever hear. They tell me to call the churches.
I am a very active member of a rather poor church. I do about anything asked of me from cleaning, yard work, setting up for events, request donations from businesess, make contacts for our Pastor, represent the church at function, help with the children's ministry, basicly I am the Pastor's right hand man in many areas.
I am not complaining about the church needing me. But I can't afford the time and gas. I have disconnect notices and back rent and no chance of over time. Now we are so busy and I am so needed I can't find the time to try to find work so I can take care of my survival needs.
I am meeting every need of the church, yet the church keeps over loading my plate. Help!

My daughter and I watch a multitude of kids shows in the morning on PBS. Sesame Street, Barney, junk like that. Whenever there is interaction between kids on these shows, or in the case of Sesame Street puppets AND kids, I always brace myself for the moment when one of the kids does something mean to the other one. On Seseame Street this morning they had Telly join a letter of the month club, Seth Green was the delivery man, and i kept waiting for him to be like, "HA HA! **** you Telly, no more letters for you!" and then run off to his truck giggling the whole way! Does this make me cynical or just plain sad?
