If I can live with just one and there are people out there looking for one I think it is only fair that I give them one. I know I will have to live healthier, but it is worth saving someones life.

It is wonderful that you want to donate your kidney. Talk to a Nephrologist first who will advise you of the many intricate details of a kidney donor.

You do know that you don't live as long (like 10-15 years less) without that second kidney, right? You also know that you cannot get paid for this donation, right?
If you're serious, you should just google "organ donation" and about a billion sites wll come up.

You sign the back of your driver's license, and when you go, that's the first thing that will be looked at. You have plenty of time to enjoy both your kidneys. Someone in your family might end up need ing one, so hold on to it sonny.

Just google it.....type kidney donation and hit search. That would be probably the best way to start.

Ask the nearest hospital. Hospitals have a network on such matters I think. So, the news that you want to give your kidney will spread.

You are not allowed to pick who gets it. You can sign an organ donor card at the DMV in the US or at any hospital. If you come up as a match to anyone in need, that's who gets it.

Work your way through the phone book, just keep phoning people asking, "Hi do you need a kidney? I have a spare one, just for you."
If that doesn't work, walk into a hospital. :)
