Isaiah 42
1"Behold my servant, whom I uphold; mine elect, in whom my soul delighteth; I have put my spirit upon him: he shall bring forth judgment to the Gentiles."
His "elect" will stand against the antichrist; the false prophet.

2"He shall not cry, nor lift up, nor cause his voice to be heard in the street."

3"A bruised reed shall he not break, and the smoking flax shall he not quench: he shall bring forth judgment unto truth."

4"He shall not fail nor be discouraged, till he have set judgment in the earth: and the isles shall wait for his law."
Why do you want to be rapture away when Jesus is coming to set judgment "IN THE EARTH"?

Check it out for your self. Stand up and check it out for your self.
Preachers can and should be questioned. After all, they are only humans. Prove your preacher wrong or prove him/her right. Just, prove them. Study God's word. Don't be deceived. You can not blame your preacher on judgment day.

You are misunderstanding what the rapture really does. First off, it will not happen at the beginning of the trib, that's wishful thinking. It will happen right after the trib, directly before the final wrath. He willl collect us to protect us from the final destruction of the earth, and put us back after its done. Those raptured will not die, nor go straight to heaven. Judgment doesn't happen until after the 1,000 year reign of Christ, so for that 1,000 years we'll be on earth with Christ as our leader.

Actually 1 Thessalonias 4:16 -18 talks about the rapture.

When the rapture takes place, there is a time period of 3/12 years where the Christians from the rapture will be in Heaven before Jesus comes back down to Earth to Judge and to fight against the Anti-Christ. This is the buildup climax of the Anti-Christ on Earth. Revelations 11-22 talks all about it. The Christians will come back with Jesus during that time to fight against Satan and the false prophets. That is known as Armageddon. Then all the Christians both in the rapture and those who were beheaded during the tribulation will go with Jesus to the New Heaven and there will be New Earth to inhabit after the thousand years of Peace is over.

Let's also not forget that there will be two judgements in Heaven - Revelations 20:15 says if your name was not found in the book of life, you are cast into the Lake of Fires. The second judgement is about works - what have you done with the life that God has given you? So we see judgement not only on Earth but also in Heaven. Jesus has a saying in all of the judging.

So wherever Jesus is, that is where I want to be. If he is in heaven during the first half of the tribulation (which he is) then that is where I should be. And at the end of the second half of the tribulation, Jesus is going to show his face and declare war on the Devil and I want to be there with him when that happens.

You know, there are many different teachings on what's going to happen in the "end times" or whatever you want to call it. Some people believe that we (gentiles) will be raptured and the jews will have to endure the tribulation and then if they turn to Christ they will be raptured too, (which I don't believe)...some dont' believe in a rapture at all.
My question is, does it really matter? I did not give my life to Christ and become a believer just to know that i'm going to heaven when I die...or to be raptured or whatever during the end times.
I became a believer because I want to give glory to God by the life I am living now...in this day...while i'm still alive.

As to questioning your pastors...it is certainly ok to take what they say and search the scriptures for confirmation. But remember to always respect authority...even if you don't agree with what they say. If it bothers you so much and you don't agree with their ideas and can't find scripture to support what they say...gracefully and honorably step out of the church and find one that preaches the word of God.

You cannot use the King James to say there is no rapture, it makes it sound as if you are an authority and you aren't. I believe in "the blessed hope", you don't have to, but don't go around acting as if you know it all. No one does but God Himself. The reason I believe in it is 1st thess. 4:15-18 and 1st Corinthians 15:51. You don't have to believe in it for it to happen. Either of us could be wrong, I'm really counting on it to be you though. Shalom
