Ok. I know the question sounds provocative.
However:
The Qu'ran is the DIRECTLY REVEALED word of Allah to his Prophet Muhammad.
Therefore there is NO theologically valid role for INTERPRETATION of the Qu'ran. You doubt or question the Qu'ran and you doubt and question Allah.
So, how can liberalising interpretations of Islam be anything other than hypocrisy? Either the Qu'ran is the word of God or not.
A couple of examples I wonder whether you approve of or practise?
"As for the thief, both male and female, cut off their hands. It is the reward of their own deeds, an exemplary punishment from Allah."
5:38
"The life for the life, and the eye for the eye, and the nose for the nose, and the ear for the ear, and the tooth for the tooth, and for wounds retaliation. "
5:45
Oh, and...
"Allah will gather hypocrites and disbelievers, all together in hell."
