We all stop for one second and think "What the heck was that?" before going back to what we were doing.

I think what you're refering to is the Mayan calendar, which ends in 2012 with nothing coming after it. It could be that the Spaniards had conquered them prior to them completing the next version of the calendar. However, if I remember correctly, during end times the Mayans believed that human creations would rise up against them.

If you want to apply this mode of thinking to modern times, there are several plausible scenarios that could bring about the end of civilization around 2012. One is the energy crisis, as the world depends heavily on crude oil. Another is global war, as political tensions appear at an all-time high. There are also environmental concerns, such as global warming.

I'd also remind you to temper your view with equating end-time theories with the year 2012. As an example, when Europe was ravaged with the black-plague, many people believed it to be the end of days. What with being surrounded by so much death and destruction, it's easy to see why they perceived it as such.

however the tip of the international will come sooner or later. it particularly is for specific. there'll come a factor the place the sunlight has exhausted that's hydrogen gasoline. At this factor, gravity will reason the sunlight to chop back, develop stress and temperature so extreme that the sunlight will swell to a purple sizable. it is going to swallow Mercury and Venus, and roast each little thing on the earth. The sunlight will then start up fusing helium into heavier aspects. The Earth would be ended at this factor.

That comes from the Mayan long count calandar. I don't know why they would have any special knowledge telling them the world would end on December 21, 2012, but that's what their calandar says. Of course, the Mayans didn't make it that long themselves.

And, of course, the end of the world has been predicted many, many times and it hasn't happened yet. Why should 2012 be any different. I'm not going to lose any sleep over it.

The term "the end of the world" occurs seven times in the Bible: Ps 19:4; Is 62:11; Mt 13:39; Mt 13;49; Mt 24:3; Mt 28:20; Heb 9;26; Just as the term "the law of God" occurs seven times in the Bible. But the term "world without end" also occurs twice in the Bible, which mentions this/that worlds of this/that Gods, to sort out. And so does the term God in "heaven": "higher than the heavens" on "high". God in heaven is higher than the heavens, higher than the God on high in the heavens. At the "throne of grace", in heaven above the heavens, there there is no law, for only "mercy" is obtain-able at the throne of grace; whereas sacrifice(slaughter) is what's obtainable at a throne of law law, whether left or right of such law law God on high in the heavens. Not to mention it's both "fearful" and a "fall" to fall into the plural "hands" of God, obviously God on high of high/higher.

The end of the world is called the harvest, but such a harvest described could resemble an F5 Tornado (law worketh wrath) cutting a swath about a mile wide and 20 miles long, a path of destruction (not construction), for in the world of law law, the end thereof such law law, everyone is wicked, sinners all, by law.

So "the end" we are exhorted to "endure unto", to be "saved"(only) by "grace"(only) is that higher world of grace (notably the end of law, even mention of law, once and for all):

The "grace" of our Lord Jesus Christ with you all. Amen.

No that is not going to be the end of the world.

But when the world does end it will likely be in some huge explosion that outright destroys everything including the planet. Othwise how could it be the end of the WORLD.

2012 could however be the end of humanity, but we will have to wait it out and see.

Where did you get 2012? The prophecy states that we have to have 30 years of uninterrupted WORLD PEACE prior to the end...That hasn't happened...Additionally, Scripture says something about being united under one leader prior to the end...That too hasn't happened yet. Nah...not close to the "end". PEACE!

2012 is the end of the Mayan long calendar. That's basically when they considered the new age (the age of aquarius in the west) to officially start (or the old age to end).

What will end the world, if anything, will be man, not God or religion. It is a world without end, that does not mean man will be here.

Personally, I hope the world ends in the Rapture. Then I can enjoy a few years on the planet without any Christians around. That sounds like heaven to me!
