Yes, I have before. If you really want to quit something just quit. I used to smoke. I decided I didn't need to anymore not just for health issues. Not smoking I'd smell better, have whitter teeth, and most of all have healthy lungs! I just up and quit. There are times when I want the effect of what smoking did for me, but I don't want it enough to hurt myself for it.

Yes, My pop quit smoking five years ago. He just decided it was time to quit. He threw out all his smokes and he hasn`t touched it since and he smoked since he was 16!! (He`s now 71) He never used the patch or anything, just sheer determination.

Yes. Two things that would help make a change, is 1.) having something very dramatic happen to make you want to quit. 2.) substituting what you want to quit with something positive.

Absolutely! That goes for additions (drugs, alcohol, smoking, etc) as well as behaviors (hatred, lust, envy, etc.). The determining factor is how serious you are about quitting. Then, you take a the necessary steps to achieve that goal.
