If we are to look to this parable and take it as it stands, is the ability to reason a talent? Wouldn't the same rules apply to that, as to any other talent? Would ignoring your ability to reason be a sin against God?

Ideally, it's best to immerse one's self in a situation where you either learn to speak the language or you starve to death.. lol You pick it up very quickly. But my options are fairly limited in this respect, living where I do. Is there a voice recognition software that teaches you to properly pronounce words, and "converse" fluidly and easily in other languages? I would LOVE to find something like this.

If Giraffes long necks evolved over millions of years so they could reach the trees to eat food,why did they not starve to death in millions of years before they got it?Wouldn't it be easier and more logical to say God created them that way?

i was deployed to iraq and we were attacked. 6 or 7 mortars exploded in our camp. i was walking to my tent and the explosions just started ripping through...it was like a movie. one exploded like 10 feet from me, the flame was like 40 ft high. part of the shrapnel struck a fuel cow and that ignited and set most of the tents on fire.

on that same deployment, our convoy was attacked. we pulled up next to this village in tikrit, which was a bad idea in the first place. then they started lighting us up. i could hear bullets ricocheting off the 5-ton. i rolled underneath and was waiting for the command to fire back but it never came. we just laid there forever.

sometimes i wonder how and why i made it out of there. and when i met my fiancee, i realized that was why i was saved. i was gonna meet that girl and marry her. shes my purpose. i was wondering how many of you have had near death experiences and has it changed the way you look at things? do u know why u were saved?

I have moved several times from places I have lived in for at least 7 years - and usually i can adapt after a while to the place I move to, but this time I feel different and can't seem to be myself around ppl - unfortunately this means that i haven't made many friends. What do you think i should do - i just don't feel like i belong anywhere now the friends i have left behind are moving on and I guess I should too! But I can't!!

OK, this is partly a joke... I saw a TV show last year, about the mayor (Alcalde) of a Puerto Rican town, pleading for help for his people, becuase the Chupa Cabra stalked the people and animals of this town... does anyone remember where this town was located? People tend to ask why are there all these starvation, aids and orphans in Africa, if there is a God what is He doing, so some people conclude that there couldn't be a God for such things to happen But the thing is shouldn't we blame our selfish human race for that ? Look at how much money we are spending producing box office hit movies, look at the lifestyle of hollywood celebrities. Look at how our children are taking things for granted these days, shouldn't we play our part in helping these victims instead of blaming God ? Anyway all problems on this earth can be solved with one thing, LOVE...one love like what U2 sings ~ agree ?

Everyone here simes to be discusing Jesus this, and Jesus that, with an acational mention of Muhamed or Allah. Atheists are not just people who don't belive in the Cristian, Muslim and Jewish god. You have many more religions like Budhisam, Hinduisam ...
How many Cristians here actually aknowlage the existence of these religions. And what do they think about them?
I don't want any 'Jesus is the only lord' or ' Allah is the true god' s**t!
I want your opinions on their philosophies and their histories and what it is about them that makes you dismiss them in those terms.
