People tend to ask why are there all these starvation, aids and orphans in Africa, if there is a God what is He doing, so some people conclude that there couldn't be a God for such things to happen But the thing is shouldn't we blame our selfish human race for that ? Look at how much money we are spending producing box office hit movies, look at the lifestyle of hollywood celebrities. Look at how our children are taking things for granted these days, shouldn't we play our part in helping these victims instead of blaming God ? Anyway all problems on this earth can be solved with one thing, LOVE...one love like what U2 sings ~ agree ?

its our job to take care of each other. when i finish college , i want to live in africa helping to improve areas like agriculture so that people can be better able to provide for themselves in those harsh climates. not everyone needs to do so much, though. just donating money, or spending a couple years in the peace corp does a lot. if everyone gave just a bit of themselves towards ending poverty and curbing disease in third world countries, in a relatively short amount of time there wouldnt be any third world countries. its wrong to sit around and blame God and not be willing to do things yourself.

A lot has to do with how rich Africa is in natural resources. There is a lot of mining and men must go to mining towns to work and leave their wives in the village. If something happens to the men the women end up going to the mining towns as prostitutes. You can imagine the result.

But, many don't know that one reason there's AIDs in Africa is that for immunization they have to reuse needles a lot because they can't afford to get new ones. This is a major means of AIDs transmission.

Also, diseases grow and spread more easily in a warm climate.

Recently I saw a BBC documentary on Global Warming/Global Dimming. They placed the desertification and starvation in Africa on lack of rain due to pollution in the US and perhaps Europe.

Finally the real issue is that Africa is a very rich continent. If the western world would just leave them alone and not steal their resources they would be the richest place of all!

Look also at the issue of Structural Adjustment. These countries have gotten high interest loans which they can't afford to pay back and it's just a way for the wealthier countries to drain off their resources in exchange for the interest.

It is such a shame. It goes back to the official Age of Imperialism in the 1840s-70s by England, France and others who officially colonized until the 1960s. Really Africa has been exploited for longer still. It's all in your history books. Since the 1960s the US and Europe have kept their fingers in the pie.
Now China's getting in the game.

It's such a shame! It has nothing to do with God and everything to do with human and corporate greed.

I don't for one minutes believe that it has anything to do with God. It human error the way things are in Africa. It has bad government in this sub-African countries. Plus the west is partially the blame. These Africans countries owe that much to the world bank and with huge loan interest on these loans. These countries produces good that are sold in the west ten to twenty time the price. So ask yourself how did God have to do with this? It all to do with the Western governments controlling in the world market trade. These Africans countries like i said above don't get a fair trading in the world market, this is the fault of western governments. Also the west support theses so-called dictator's in these countries to suit there own agenda. Cheap products from these poor countries

Love is fine but honest responsible government is much more important to improve the lives of the people. The countries, except for a few exceptions, have had governments that have raided the public treasuries for their own benefit and left the people destitute. Wealthier countries can bring in aid but until the social structure and government are changed it is like putting a bandaid on a severed artery.
