Adoration of Osiris Wen-Nefer, the great god in Abydos,

king of eternity, lord of infinity, passing through millions of years as his lifetime,

first son of the womb of Nut, begotten of Geb,

chief, great lord of the Double Crown of Egypt, exalting the White Crown of the South.

O prince of gods and men, you have received the crook and flail, and the office of the fathers, and your heart is glad in the Mountain [of Amentet].

Your son Horus is established on your throne, and you are crowned in Busiris as ruler in Abydos.

You make the Two Lands to flourish by truth of voice in the presence of Neb-er-djer.

He has drawn forth those who have not come into being in his name of "The Earth Is Drawn to Him;" he tows the Two Lands in truth in his name of "Seker."

He is greatly powerful, great of fear in his name of "Osiris;" his existance is for 120 eternities in his name of "Wen-Nefer."

Homage to you, king of kings, lord of lords, ruler of rulers,

who has taken the Two Lands from the womb of Nut; he rules the lands of Igert.

His limbs are silver; his head is lapis lazuli; the crown of his head is turquoise.

Iwen of millions of years, wide of skin, beautiful of face in the Holy Land,

you give glory in heaven, strength on earth, and truth of voice in the underworld,

and the power to sail north to Busiris as a living soul, to sail south to Abydos as a phoenix, and to enter and exit without opposition at any door of the underworld.

May bread be given to me in the House of Cool Water, and peace in Heliopolis, and an estate established in the the Field of Reeds with barley and wheat on it,

to the ka of the Osiris Ani.

Many Americans give the end of the world "serious consideration". Yet the track record of prophets through the centuries couldn’t be worse.

Leo Harris, founder of Australia’s Christian Revival Crusade argued for 1979 as the possible date for the return of Christ. He claimed Christ had to return within one generation of 1917. Some books of the sect also promote the year 2000 for Jesus’ return. (e.g. Foster 1977)

The Worldwide Church of God (founded in 1934 by Herbert W Armstrong) promoted 1972 for the outbreak of the "Great Tribulation" followed by world rule by Jesus around 1978. In 1955, for example, his magazine The Plain Truth said, "we will be totally consumed and carried away captive to other nations as slaves within 20 years."

The Children of God predicted catastrophe in early 1974 with the approach of the comet Kohoutec.

I hate sitting next to someone on the train who keeps sniffing. I wonder why they don't just blow their nose. I always do and although it can be loud at least it's quick. A guy on the train had a tissue in his hand and was sniffing non-stop for about 30 mins. Maybe I'm too sensitive of these things!

Does the theocratic war strategy justify lying in court and elsewhere?

While malicious lying is definitely condemned in the Bible, this does not mean that a person is under obligation to divulge truthful information to people who are not entitled to it. …Jesus on certain occasions refrained from giving full information or direct answers to certain questions when doing so could have brought unnecessary harm (Mt 15:1-6; 21:23-27; Joh 7:3-10). Evidently the course of Abraham, Isaac, Rahab, and Elisha in misdirecting or in withholding full facts from nonworshipers of Jehovah must be viewed in the same light-Ge 12:10-19; chap 20; 26:1-10; Jos 2:16; Jas 2:25; 2Ki 6:11-23 (p. 245).

The Watchtower does not admit to reaching lying, but that lying to "God's enemies" is not really lying but "war strategy"?

So then, I find myself at a place with a fork in the road. You'll never understand even if I did explain it ( well some of you do already, I'm pretty sure of that )but what I need is positive thoughts if you don't believe and prayers if you are a believer. Today, before 9:00 P.M., E.S.T. to make this thing work, if you've a generous heart please help me now! I know I'll probably get some flak but hey I'm putting it out there anyway, that's how close it is; I'll take the flak for this to work. Look in your heart before you begin and feel if this is right, I won't come up short on this one, it's right. If your ever going to help, help me now.

there is this boy i have seen at a restaurant i go to. he is a waitor working part time here for the summer. he is really cute and i think he is as interested in me as i am in him. we have smiled to eachother a few times when he past by me and he's winked at me meaningfully also.

the only problem: he is hungarian and only knows VERY LITTLE german and english...when i say VERY little, i mean it. FYI: i asked him "is mr. X (his boss) mean to u?" and he didn't know what "mean" meant. is there a way i can learn enough hungarian to ask him out and have a good time on the date? any websites i can go to that can help (so far all those i have accessed teach something that is most definately NOT hungarian, coz he had no idea what i was saying when i gave it a shot. i probably said something either meaningless or very silly)

please help me ...anyone!!
thanx.

Should we look at these people as an example to a new level of humanity. Does this sound promising. To one day instantly manifest our creation with creative intent. Just an idea. Would we have some sort of telepathic connection with each other like the internet cables connected to our computers that we could control the flow of data? Would it take away from our indivuality or would we have newly understood ego?

If our places were switched, if it were Christians in the Middle East and Muslims in the US, the Christian Fundamentalists would be the terrorists.

They're two sides to the same coin...one of them just has bigger guns.

Look at the link below for the article in the Houston Chronicle.

Yates originally claimed that she had ruined her children and that they were going to grow up to be criminals. With a mother like her, that doesn't sound too far-fetched.

So my question is, had her children been allowed to live, would they have grown up to be criminals? If so, this raises an interesting question. Is it possible to identify children who will grow up to be criminals at an early age? And if so, how should these children be dealt with?

I personally would have no sympathy for a future criminal, any more than I would for someone who had already committed a crime. I would probably go too far and just lock the children up and throw away the key.

What would you do, if you seriously believed that your child was "ruined" and had no hope whatsoever of living a worthwhile existence?

I just want the Jewish thought on hell and the lake of fire. The typical Christian sectarian thoughts gets twisted with the lake of fire - the lake of fire is forever and ever - but hell (hades) is a holding cell.

So I am really wondering what the JEWISH (only Jewish) thoughts are on the matter based on traditions taught in the Synagogues. This is not a judgmental question nor am I baiting - but a sincere desire to know.
