I see everyone segregated in one way or another. In my block, mexicans hang out.. white americans hang out with themselves, asians hang out with themselves.. Blacks hang with themselves. Everyone seems to be shy to talk to one another. The only melting i see is if mexicans, asians, blacks, were born in usa , are already assimilated and they don't even sound or act like their parents, they sound and act like Whites . And not all of us are assimilated, maybe some of us were raised in the culture of our parents, and as 1st generation americans we don't feel comfortable fitting in with assimilated americans.. So where is the melting, being that many of us are 1st generation americans that don't really feel like we fit in, so we feel uneasy, and even the other americans don't approach us and we also don't approach them. I just don't see it.
