Everyone knows that the Bible states that Jesus is Lord. Why does all the liberals have such a hard time understanding this simple concept?

In my Wednesday night Bible study (Baptist church) we are researching this topic and we have each been assigned to find an answer to specific excuses as to why people don't want to get saved and be able to back it up with scripture. the excuse i am working on is people don't want to give up their sin. they don't want to give up things in their life that they enjoy but that are against God ie: sex before marriage, getting drunk, lying, gluttony, etc.... what would you say to someone who has this as an excuse as why not to get saved? how would you defend your opinion, and can you back it up with scripture?

but what i am curious about is why you keep on questioning something that you dont believe in?

granting that you just want to learn or discover something from theist's belief system, when you do get or didnt get the valid answers that suits you, will it make a difference to you as an atheist? i just want to know.

I've notice that alot of people give the same religious answer. This make it seem so robotic and without true understanding.

Personally, I like to answer from my own interpretation as I find the teachings of religious scholars can be confusing. Only I believe that you have to gain spiritual/religious insight from your own research aswell. Sometimes I fuse my understandings with those of others inorder to get my point across more clearly.

Do you answer what you were taugt or do you answer what you believe?
