why are some people enrolling in very fundamentalists and exterme religious movements such as scientology, islam, hare krishna, bagawan sects and even mormonism?
This is the answer that i got from a well educated person,

we inhabit a world where science and new knowledge has wiped out practically all our ancient religious beliefs, and some weak people just cant accept this fact. They have reached the point of hysteria and as a result think that when they join some extreme religious movement that it would in some way give them hope. but its falls hope. fundamentalists dont have to think.
we need to understand god in this modern world as a modern deity and let go of the old one.
this answer to me makes a lot of sense, dont you think so?

The other day my son used his left hand to make the sign of the cross. I corrected him and told him to use his right hand. He asked me was it because Jesus was right handed? I did not know why we use our right hand instead of the left hand.

i have real problem with judging people. i get i from my friends. its not harsh judging but things like 'i cant believe she going out with him cus he does look...' 'why does her hair look like that'

no matter what we start talking about it always turns to judging and i know better but cant help it. i know what Jesus says about judging. does any one have any advice on how i can focus more on positve things and not critisize or judge others.

I mean come on just look around you there is no proof of god so he doesn't exist! So they just try to make up some proof which can very easily be disproved. Then they have the nerve to try and say evolution and the big band aren't real!! What planet are they on? The planet Stupid?

When he had said those things, I saw him seemingly being seized by them. And I said "What do I see, O Lord? That it is you yourself whom they take, and that you are grasping me? Or who is this one, glad and laughing on the tree? And is it another one whose feet and hands they are striking?"
The Savior said to me, "He whom you saw on the tree, glad and laughing, this is the living Jesus. But this one into whose hands and feet they drive the nails is his fleshly part, which is the substitute being put to shame, the one who came into being in his likeness. But look at him and me."

Give me your opinions please?

Seriously, with all the evidence out there, the complex details of exactly how we got the way we are, how can any educated person actually not believe in evolution but insted believe that some invisable force just "made things the way they are"? if that was right why would be have diseases and birth defects?? Why would god want us to have those things? I mean all you have to do is look at fossil records or dinosaur bones!

I know he is called he in the bible but surely an omnipotent, omnipresent being who exists beyond the realm of our material world would be better described as 'It'?

No offence I was just wondering

I've seen much questions abot if there is a god. Someone said that he exist cause someone has to create us and bla bla bla cause nothing is automatic in this world. So who created God?? and who created god who created that god? Does god exist for real or it's just a human nature of creatin their own god to pray when we r not happy??

Does anyone else think that the execution of serious criminals (in the USA for example) needs to be further exploited to act as a real deterrent?

I'm not suggesting that electrocutions get televised during the breakfast show, but maybe if the public were made aware of execution in a more active manner it would act as a much better deterent than just letting us know John Doe has been executed behind closed doors? After all, it doesn't seem to be acting as too much of a deterent at the moment.

Just a though.
