no matter what we start talking about it always turns to judging and i know better but cant help it. i know what Jesus says about judging. does any one have any advice on how i can focus more on positve things and not critisize or judge others.

there's a small book out called taming the tongue...look it up and buy it...also read scripture on the tongue...what or who are you benefiting by speaking against people...love them and help them with there awkward ways or looks...we all do it and it's a hard thing to get out of sometimes because we all talk about things..but try not to involve yourself with idle talk..don't say anything when others start in that conversation..and it's hard because that's what you are used to but with time you'll begin to gain control over it...you need a different perspective on what you are doing..understanding the harm in it may help you overcome this obstacle.

well, the first think you need to know is that you have taken the very first steps in stoping what you are doing - you know you are doing it :) i know, it sounds silly, but i think that is key.

the only advice i think anyone can give is to say "in time" - faith is a process, not a "end" - so as you walk in that faith you will develop the skills to help you in your walk.

if you need, have a friend - someone who you trust - to tell you when you are judging others. have them be willing to pull you aside and say, "hey, that was not very cool, and here is why..." just make sure that the person you ask, is not known for judging :)

Whenever ur tempted to judge someone..think " How would I like it if that person was saying the same thing about me or judging me the same way?"

Think about how you would like to be treated, and then treat others. If you see someone and you have the urge to make fun of them, or judge them, think of how you would feel if they judged you that way.

Judge others only as harsh as you are willing to judge yourself.

Jesus has never said anything about judging that people should believe because he was just an ordinary Arab magician!

You do it because your human. Pray. Pray that the Lord will take your judgmental ways from your heart. We all do it, even sometimes we do it and don't even know it. What is really good is that the Lord is putting a conviction in your heart about it. He knows you want to do something about it. Pray

Dont worry! I do that too! Its all in human nature! I would suggest asking God for convcition when you do it, and to help you become more Christ like and see the positive. I did, and he is really changing me!

Try to get involved with a youth group at church, you may find better peers whom share your morals deep down.
