Well IMO anyone can talk to anything, everything or nothing. The label that man puts on it is really a matter of personal opinion. If I sit out under the stars look up and say wow the universe is a beautiful place I may or may not be talking to God.The thing is if someone doesn't believe a certain way people tend to label them as an atheist when in reality they believe in a supreme being that they choose to call God or they may not call it anything. As for those who don't believe like I said just because they r not main stream religion does not mean they don't believe but even if they don't that should be of no concern to anyone else because your spirituality is a personal thing .

God is God. If you are going to talk to Him, I would think you would have to believe that you are at least talking to Someone. If you don't believe there is a God, then I'd say you are talking to air even though God is listening. This question doesn't really make a lot of sense. It's kind of like asking, "Before a person talks to "Sean", shouldn't that person have a belief that "Sean" exists? What about the people that don't believe that "Sean" exists? Doesn't really make a whole lot of sense.

I would think if a person where going to talk to God, they would believe in him. A person would not talk to someone or something that they did not believe existed. If a person did not believe that God existed, they would be wasting their time talking to nothing.

Depends on how you see God. The accepted title for the divine in the US and in many other places is "God". Some people get accustomed to saying Goddess. Some just kinda talk things out with the Divine and don't use a name at all. It's good for your spirit and mental health to be able to talk things out, no matter how it is directed. If you want more information on alternatives to just God, look up religions and spirituality in the world. There isn't just one.

Yes to first part of the question. Second part - no one talks to something (or God) they see as non existent. Once a non believer start talking to God, they are admitting He is there to listen.

Some times God takes us through some stuff before He delivers us and while we are getting delivered He wants to establish a relationship with us. There is not a pre requisite to talk to God for even the heathen will cry out "Abba-Father"

Well if one doesn't believe in God, then they probably wouldn't even try talking to God.

But God will listen no matter what, he is omnipresent. He is our creator and has a listening ear always. Just don't confuse listening with granting your wishes!! :)

This is not my story, but my boyfriend, before he became a Christian....stood at his kitchen window and said/prayed to GOD...saying IF YOU ARE OUT THERE....so he still doubted, but he was seeking something.....so maybe you do need to be a seeker to talk to GOD, although GOD listens to us all. In my boyfriends case...he had a life changing experience, a vision of sorts, and he became a Christian.
Some of us have been Christians all our life, and have never had one of THOSE experiences....but we still believe in GOD...not A GOD....GOD.
So, about those who don't believe in GOD...He is still listening...in fact, he is waiting to hear from you!

Anyone can talk to God. Talking to Him would mean that you do believe. Those who don't believe wouldn't talk to someone they don't believe in.

We all have to start some where, with whatever our beliefs are, whether it is to believe He does exist or not. Sometimes I think there are people that need to talk to Him to ask if He is real. Then you can recieve answers, like in Galations, you will feel peace and love, because He loves you.
