Leaving aside religion why do you believe that marriage should be between one man and one woman? Why not two men or two women or even two women and one man?

For me, I'd say my: my family, my bf, my cats, a toothbrush, and my blue blanket. That's what first comes to mind, anyway!

The two most important arguments for death penalty are:

F1) It is a strong deterrent
F2) It is essential for retribution

The two most important arguments against death penalty are:
A1) It is not a good deterrent
A2) The law might be objective, but its implementation is very subjective. Once life is taken a subjective error cannot be corrected.

Sorry, I cannot include any religious arguments

I strongly agree with F1 and F2. But A2 is true. In my opinion A2 trumps both F1 and F2 - so I am against it.

Your thoughts?

Does anybody know a website that will give the estimate for the UK population in 2006 and possibly the projected population for 2016? I have tried statistics online but it only gives figures for mid-2005.

Thanks

For example...

Even America's greatest president, Ronald Reagan, lost five House seats and eight Senate seats in his sixth year in office.

The sentence above assumes Ronald Regan is America's greatest president as though its a matter of fact and not a debatable point. I know there is a specific name for this type of fallacy. What is it?

seriuos. The goddam metal flange thing, from what I can see from the ground at any rate, is loose and bangs against the metal chimney pipe on my house any time the wind even breathes. It echos down the pipe and you can hear it all over, even in the bedroom when you;re trying to sleep. The roof is a 45 pitch, its a one and a half story house....I'm too old to shimmying across the hip of the roof. How much is that job worth, I supply a fresh tube of furnace cement?
