I've noticed on TV and in movies that if someone has no idea how to do something but they fall asleep listening to a recording telling them they can repeatedly (i.e., "I CAN lose weight... Food has no power over me..."; "I can play guitar... I have become one with the guitar..."). Just over and over again in their sleep... Next morning, they wake up, and sure, they can't stop saying the phrases, but the have the confidence to actually do these things right. Does this work?

Males dominate the world of art as much as we dominate the cold, rational world of science.

Although tenderness is a female virtue, the most tender, and lyrical ballads were composed by MALE composers.

Although appreciating flowers is thought of as a female thing nowadays, the people who waxed most poetic about the beauty of flowers were MEN (The Romantic era poets).

Why, is only the cold, rational side seen as masculine? Men have a creative, irrational, artistic side too.

I have had my shares of up and downs in life. I have seen a therapist and I dont want to be on anti-deprestants. I never have energy. I am always tired and i don't want to do anything. I am not sad, angry, or depressed. My mood always changes. I have a hard time staying in a good mood or putting a smile on my face. People are always telling me that I need to smile or that I come off as a rude person. I don't know what the reason is for all of this.

Have you noticed something about “powerful” woman…they seem to be about as effective in securing a real man as an Eunuch is in securing a woman. When your that far off the bell curve, it’s a tough bet to find a “normal” person.

I once asked a girl why did she want to become President…she stated that she wanted to be President to show a woman could do the same job as a man(and do you think that attitude tends to go with this new generation of woman…the need to prove something??!!)

If you’re a powerful woman who has no man…remember: men prefer woman who possess traits of their MOTHER, not their father.

To those who LOVE money, they will NEVER have enough…what a GOAL to aspire to, in a morally and ethically bankrupt society.

stole our car, we probably would be cussing at them and making a big fit saying things about thier mom etc. Dreams can take you anywhere, but the car just takes you to work, or the grocery store just let them have the car. Many people today, get thier dreams ripped to shreds because some people say they'll never make it. Maybe those who say you can't make it are afraid you might turn out in a better situation than they are?

The prof gave us this online time limited test of 1 hr (Biochem) on the Internet. It had so many tricky Qs. Some of them I was partially right but the real answer was All The Above. The calculation problems were also so scary that I could barely look at it without feeling anxiety and I couldn't think straight so I did not do well on those although I did practise on them beforehand. It was an open book test but some Qs were not so explicit and it wasn't as if i could be certain that one was the choice. It is still wrong if you did not choose the best choice, even though it was right.

I didn't even finish all the Qs bc of my lack of confidence.

I have other courses to attend to but I can't forget about it for now. I really have no coping skills. Any secrets to cheering yourself and working at another course.

I feel like I have to drop all the courses and only take Biochem bc I can't stop thinking about my failed test. How do I gain some confidence on this?

... if that particular individual has never experienced any hair related trauma involving either themselves, a loved one, or a family member? Is there another means by which a profound love of hair and haircutting (female head hair to be specific) may find a means of manifesting itself, such as via imprinting. Could a hair fetish be instinctive. Is a hair fetish necessarily related to domination over another person's appearance, or could it be something more mutual? Could it in fact be a morphism of the primate grooming fetish often observed in chimps and bonobos (evolutionary origin)? Is a hair fetish always sexual? Is it normal provided that most humans find hair to be either a cosmetic priority or an important part of self-expression? Is it widespread considering the large potential for ill experiences with a person's hair, either regarding hair envy for one else's hair or a bad hair cut experienced by the person or a family member or a loved one?

At least once or twice a month I have this dream where I can "levitate" objects just by looking at them. Sort of like the book and movie "Matilda." It's a pretty fun dream and of course I'm sad the next day when these "super powers" don't apply to my real life! What ever could this dream mean? I've been having it for about 14 years now!

Yes, I can understand that it is against some people's morals. Some people find that accepting money for any service of a sexual nature (whether it involves actual sexual contact or not) compromises their sexual integrity. Fine. Sexuality is a very personal thing.

But why do I see so much anger? When I see questions on yahoo Q & A (not so much in gender studies as in other areas) so many people seem to have a lot of seething anger. Seems unneccesary, since, if it's not for you, you really don't have to be involved. So why so much venom and name calling?
