Elaboration:

This question follows along with the "What is real?" line of questioning. Suppose you had a lifelong desire to touch the Sphinx, for instance. If you could visit a "virtual Sphinx" and the experience were as exactly as vivid as it would be if you were actually there, would that be enough or would you still want to touch the "real deal"?

Insert any experience you may actually desire into your answer - if you could have identical experiences either in the real world, or in a virtual copy of the real world, would your knowledge that it's not "real" make you continue to seek it out in the "real world"? If it depends on what the subject matter is, are there things you'd settle for experiencing entirely in VR and only in VR versus things that you would only feel fulfilled in experiencing "for real"?

Please, be as detailed and elaborative as you wish. I'm very interested in your answers to this question. :-)

answering questions on Answers with things that we have discussed and is saying things almost the way I would. Things like making yourself vulnerable to truly get close to someone. The importance of mothers/parents in their children's lives.. lots of things from a feminist perspective etc.

Didn't realise I had such an impact on him and am feeling a bit bemused by it - yahoo thoughts?

Another poster said:

"Men hold doors open for women. Women don't hold doors open for men.

Men always are nice and strike up conversation with women. Women never initiate conversation with men, act stuck up, and act aloof and unconcerned.

Men say women are beautiful. Women say/pretend the male figure is ugly and not to be appreciated.

Men's moods are relatively steady. Women have PMS and various mood swings and emotionally-distraught outbursts.

Men accept responsibility for their actions, and "toughen up" when times get hard. Women blame all of their problems on men.

Women in the workplace tend to be catty, emotional, jealous, and bring their personal lives in to the situation, and female bosses tend to be catty. Men set their personal lives and emotions aside to get the job done. Studies show both men and women prefer male bosses."

What do you think? I think there is a lot of truth to this.

I've read/heard that most women were really bisexual to varying degrees. I wonder how true this is. Therefore, this is a question for women who would normally count themselves as being straight...

The thought of making love to another woman is:

A. Exciting. I'd try it/have already tried it.
B. Exciting in a sense. Probably wouldn't try it though.
C. Repulsive.
D. Not sure/depends/I'm open to persuasion.
E. Other (specify)

An average middle class family needs atleast Rs 20,000/- per month to barely survive - payning rent, school fees, food, electricity, conveyance, etc. But The government thinks that an individual who earns Rs 10,000/- per month has to pay Income Tax. This is a shameful way to steal from the citizens. We anyway pay so much in INDIRECT TAXES , on Telephone Bill, Conveyance, Electricity, Food, Clothes, Petrol, etc

I have noticed from my experience that families with lower incomes seem to have more kids than those with seemingly more income. Has anyone else thought this? Is there a connection?

If money and location were not issues, why would a man want to live with a woman he is not romantically involved with? Why would a man want to live with several women?

Knowing the dangers of living with a man, one is not romantically involved with why would a woman allow this? Again if money and location were not issues.

And you went through the proper channels with Customer Care and nothing happened. Maybe they responded by acknowledging your petition, but nothing ever came about as a result?

Was your account suspended or even deleted?

Was this because somebody got annoyed with what you posted or perhaps just because they had an axe to grind that day?

You couldn't do anything about it, could you? Somebody was abusing the "report violation" button, and you were getting the short end of the stick.

Well, you can fight this "injustice" by going to

http://tech.groups.yahoo.com/group/anti_nazi_allies/

Maybe if enough of us get together, we can persuade Yahoo! Answers to revamp their seemingly robotic report system.

Thanks.

Or you can just go ahead and report me.

As a clinical psychologist, you are committed to protecting the privacy of your patients. One afternoon a patient tells you that her husband, who has been abusing her physically and mentally for years, has threatened to kill her, and she believes he would, you try to convince her to leave him, but she tells you that she has decided to kill him. She is certain that he would find her where ever she went and feels that she will be safe only when he is dead.

What would you do? How would you make this important decision?

Why not 30 or 20? I've asked this question and similar ones on YA before, but don't feel I've received any satisfactory answers. Usually I get responses from economic experts who suggest I take an economics course and offer vague warnings of runaway inflation. But let's assume (because it's true) that I put in 11 hour days Mon thru Fri including commute time and I don't have the money, time, energy or inclination to enroll in a college course. Can you give me the title of a book, an author, a masters thesis, anything that would explain what's so magical about 40 hours? What if we started taxing the rich again, or taxed all sales items that weren't absolute necesities? There's got to be a way to crunch the numbers so we don't have to bust our butts all our lives. For those of you chuckling darkly at my rant because you work 60 or 80 hours a week, why do you do it? Because you like it? For toys? Retirement? Survival? Should we compete with Asian factory workers? 98 hrs per wk

should i go see a psychologist to help me find out who i really am? when people talk to me, i'm not very entertaining or interesting to them. i don't look happy and i'm very shy. i used to burden my problems on people and they got angry. i get angry at myself when i don't make people happy. i would like to make them feel comfortable around me and be themselves but it's not working. i realize u need a sense of humor to get through in life and i don't have that. i think people think of me as selfish, worthless, close-minded, slow, ugly, stuck up, moody, and unconsiderate. i'm only 19 and should'n live my life thinking this way, but these thoughts keeps coming back to me when i see other's pictures on facebook and i can't control it. They are having a good life because they accept themselves, why can't i accept who i am and admire the little things in life. why do people think i'm boring? i'm like a broken CD that can't please people.
