Imitation is a primate thing. People do it without thinking, which is a human thing. You can take it as flattery, or plagiarism.

I've had the same happen many times, but they have said it in conversation, thinking it is coming from themselves. But, their thinking was different before. It's a compliment that others take on board what you say and it becomes part of their psyche.
I've had ideas before, which I've mentioned to friends, or they've seen something of mine, and then weeks or months later, I find they've done exactly the same thing. I think it's funny. Nice to know I can set trends and have good ideas which people want to copy!

I'd say you've had a positive impact on him, and he's realised you gave him good advice. Now he wants to pass it on to others. Isn't that great?
They do say that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery!

I would feel honored.Your friend obviously thinks highly of your thoughts on those subjects and has adopted them as his own. It should be great to know that your thoughts are important and meaningful enough that he chose to believe them and adapt. Most people wouldn't change their thinking just because someone told them something new....

I had this happen to me, so I set a trap for him and told him some of my upcoming idea's/ thoughts, so away he went and gave his opinion/ideas/thoughts, which were mine word for word, He landed himself in very hot water. However he was quick to blame me also. I asked him why he used my thoughts/ideas, and his answer was, you are so popular, and you see both sides of everything, and I admire you and want to be like you. Sorry you must be who you are, I told him.

The more difficult the idea is, the less chance someone else already said it.
Alsheimer may have something to do with it too.
