They start by having ignorant people voice their opinion to a group of ignorant people.People are willing to believe anything that makes them look better than someone else.I'm afraid I see no ending in sight for stereotyping. All we can do is instill a positive attitude in our children and hope for the best.

A stereotype is an action or characteristic, that is true for the majority (not all) of a certain race, or gender, etc...

One example being most 30+ year old asians DO drive slow.

It will end when the majority of them learn to drive normal. Until such time, the stereotype will hold true.

It started by observations on how the majority of a certain type of people act.

Stereotypes will never end because they are a part of human nature. I suspect that you have grown tired of certain stereotypes that portray you or friends/family in a negative light. While this is frustrating (I suffer from this because of my physical appearance) you have to accept that most people in life are not going to get to know you personally, therefore they will judge you by what their previous experience in life has been with people that you remind them of. Whenever I get frustrated at these people I have to admit that I'm also guilty of this and so is everyone else on some level. If you were standing in line at the bank and a man walked in wearing a ski mask, you would probably stereotype him as a bank robber, although he might just be cold. I realize that's an extreme example but we are all guilty on this one to one degree or another. My advice, don't fit the stereotypes that people try to lay on you. those that get to know you will appreciate you and those that don't aren't worth worrying about.

It won't end. I'm stereotyped because I'm a woman and have tattoos, Doesn't have to be because of race, color or your religion.
It's what you drive, hang out with, drink, shop, your pay-check the list can go for miles.
So that's why it will never end.

stereotypes are cultural similarities that are often misused and exagerated to sound worse to people without those traits. they won't go away as long as there is money to be made and power to be had.
