Okay, let's say we have a $15 Target gift certificate. So it's worth $15 dollars, right? But then again, it can't be worth as much as $15 dollars cash because you can only use it on specific things. So how much is it really worth? How do I determine its worth?

Whats the harm in doing a few lines of coke at a party, a few lines wouldn't kill me. I asked my cousin if he's ever tried coke and he said no, then he said, "I better not ever catch you doing coke, if I ever catch you doing coke, I will break every bone in your body." I don't she why he cares since he has done extacy in the past. He somehow believes coke is worse then extacy. Hes like, you can die the first time for doing coke. I think its the other way around. If my cousin has done X, then why would he do if I do a few lines of coke at a party.

I'm 25, B.S. in biology. Will do well on GREs for sure (lots of studying until I'm ready). Don't have any extracurriculars (just not that type of person) although I might join a club soon.

From what I hear it is very competitive.. so I really don't see how I could get in especially since I don't have a bachelor's in psychology

Do I have a chance? Especially if:

1) I take a semester of psychology courses, the core ones that most programs seem to require

2) Do extremely well (95% or higher) on the GREs

3) Do well on the psychology GRE by studying for a few years for it

4) Join Psi Chi during the semester I take the psych classes

Ok..I've posted this before, and while I got a lot of kind responses I never really got what I was looking for..so I'll ask again. The thing is I have what is called a hypnofetish. I get turned on by seeing attractive people hpnotized and being hypnotized myself. IT started about a year ago after volunteering for this x rated hypnotist in my sorority. The whole thing felt veyr relaxing and very erotic. The show was of an erotic bent, meaning we did a lot of nasty stuff like give head to lolipops and have an orgasm from a foot rub or "orgasm gun" After this show I've been incredibly turned on by hypnosis and am worried that I might have messed myself up sexually..or something. Anyway..what I want to know is am I normal..or what. I still get turned on by normal sex, just hypnosis really gets me hot...My BF thinks im stupid..so..yeah..what should I do.

I always seem to have dreams about tides coming and trying to drown me. It's very scary! My dream can start out good or bad, and somehow, an ocean tide always gets in there and I almost drown. I had one the other night, and I seem to have them constantly. I LOVE water. It doesn't make any sense. I've been told by a phsycic and by friends that it might be linked to a past life. I don't even care what it is at this point! I just want these cold sweat, fast heartbeat nightmares to stop! They're very stressful and confusing and after I have a dream about it, I think about it all day like "WHAT DOES IT MEAN?!" =(

Quite a few, I was sleeping on the beach and the tide creeped up on me and tried to drown me. I seem to almost drown to death, and then I usually get away.

Some are like that, but in other dreams, the tides are actually CHASING after me, or the water rises very quickly and there's no way to escape.

Please help. =/
This is driving me INSANE!

I am writing an economics lesson plan on budgeting. One of the exercises I want to do involves making a budget for an "average" American. Is there a site out there which will tell me what the average American makes and what he/she spends on average on things like housing, food, clothing, grooming, medicine, entertainment, etc.? I really don't want to research these things individually.

Or vice versa?

Overall, I think more people need to be selfless -- be a giver than a receiver, practice random acts of kindness or even volunteer. In other words, they should think of others and not themselves. It just seems like we live in a self-centered society. People need to redirect their focus. What do you all think?

I don't see the good in this situation...

My daughter is 15 and living in another state with her grandmother. She is not doing well in school and has no one to support her.

My ex-husband started a new job in another state and is stressed out because of the child, etc. He keeps leaving me messages about how she is in pain and not doing well.

I am living in another state and am lonely and having a hard time finding a permanent job. I am working at a contract position. I feel worried and sad most of the time.

If everything happens for a reason and for the good, I can not see any good in this situation.

making money. I have heard the viewpoints of some retired psychiatrists and they say that it is all bs. Their is nothing internally wrong with you, but your environment, beliefs, attitudes all affect how you are. Events of your life, intense pressure, and suppressed emotions lead to these symptoms. I have had symptoms of many of them, but I've also had some pretty bad life experiences. I don't believe in that genetic vulnerability blabble. It's like the way they use religion as means to control people. It's like a cult. For example, if I am a good enough actor, I can convince you that I am something I am not. It's all in the way something is said, and people wanting to look for a quick-fix. Emotions are powerful and real and sometimes pressure leads us to hide them. Convince me that things such as mental illnesses exist.
