Okay, let's say we have a $15 Target gift certificate. So it's worth $15 dollars, right? But then again, it can't be worth as much as $15 dollars cash because you can only use it on specific things. So how much is it really worth? How do I determine its worth?

The card is worth $15 at Target and www.target.com. You may be able to sell the card on eBay or somewhere for 50% of it's value, maybe a little more. Other than that, your card is worth $0.

A It's worth whatever someone is willing to give you for it.

B If there's a SuperTarget in your area (to address your specific question) you can buy groceries, clothing, household items -- all kinds of things most people use -- therefore it's worth $15.
