When you feel empty and lonely inside, or in pain, what is a socially acceptable form of self-comfort? I used to suck my thumb, but I'm kind of old for that now, need something equally effective but socially acceptable.

Yes I am generalizing because this is in GENERAL! MEANING MOST OF THE TIME and not all the time!!!

Do you have any credible proof of what you are saying? I'm pretty sure if I had a vagina I could give birth and take it. Plus I got another one for you. If you were too punch a guy and a woman in the stomach, I'm pretty sure the woman would be on the ground crying, whereas the guy would just take it.So much for being ''wussies''. I think this could also be applied to childbirth.

What are your opinions?

I think there is a big difference between assertive and aggressive. In my definition the word assertive means- to stand up for yourself by making a firm (request) and enforcing it though non-cooperation while aggressive is- making a (demand) and attempting to have it met with force. I hear other people use the two words as if they are synonymous. What do you think?

I'm sure most of you have had them often. I know I do. Sometimes it just feels strange. It's like seeing things that happened already but you just can't seem to remember when it last happened.

I learned that as you grow up, your overall mood will be a major determining factor in your facial appearance & structure (as in your face will mold to fit your mood, because this is how people develop). Unfortunately I was very cute & good looking through elementary school, with a face that had a great personality to it. However, over the years, I've had miserable luck, mainly with sports, and a lot of other things, & now I'm not nearly as good looking & don't have the same facial expression & brightness that I use to have, & now Im only 18. If things had just gone a little better here & there it can really affect how you look & develop (this is a much proven & regarded theory of how people develop, as their physical features match their personality to help them survive, it's part of nature). Now I have a huge receding hairline & have gotten ugly. How can this not be depressing? (By the way I don't have less of a dynamic personality by choice, it's just because of diff stuff).

Right, I was in psychology class the other day (we were just doing courswork writing methods, so that couldn't have affected it) and I was VERY bored so I was doodling.

It was that kind of sub-conciously-not-paying-much-attention doodling, and I drew a nude male Jewish Nazi, heiling the Kaiser, and being shot by an arrow bearing the emblem of the Star of David.

What does this reveal as far as psyche goes? I am open to more spiritual interpretations.

And before someone tries to suggest it - I am NOT anti-Semitic - in fact, I hold a great deal of respect for the Jewish religion.

Ok. I have spent all my life in a house with a depressed mother and abusive father. At school, everyone picked on me and beat me up. So, naturally, I tried to grow up.

I am now 12 and have the intellegnce of a 23-year-old. My parents are getting divorced and I'm at a new school. Problem is, it's really hard for me to be a kid and do kid things with my new friends. I also have a hard time trusting people. How can I reclaim my childhood before it's too late?

When I see any person who is physical disable than I feel him. Sometimes I think if I can take him to my house and look after him than I would be very happy. But I can't. When I see a rich person tortures a poor than I become dishearted but nothing to do. In the past I protested some cases. As a result I have been looser.
