it is normal to be scared about the future, especially if you are young and feel pressured. however, think of your going to college (in the US or elsewhere) as a huge learning experience. everybody goes to college with fear in their hearts, but with an expectant fear. you will make new friends, learn many valuable life lessons, and explore many exciting places. college will be an unforgettable experience for you, if you have a good attitude going into it.
try not to think about failing and you won't. put positive reinforcements in your head and you will succeed. all the best! :)

Of course you can do anything you set your heart and mind to. If you want it bad enough you will acheive it no matter where you are. Yes, moving to the US will be a life changing event and it won't be easy at first ....learning your way around, etc. But stop thinking about "what if I fail". If you really want to do this and it is important to you, then you won't allow yourself to fail. It takes work and dedication to be good at anything so make school your priority when you get here. As long as you stay focused and dedicated to your school work you will do just fine. Won't it feel good to call your Dad one day and tell him how great you are doing? If you have serious reservations about moving this far and being somewhat on your own, then maybe you'd better think again and go to school where you live now. And that would be good too....it wouldn't mean you had failed, it would mean you made an important wise decision for yourself. Think about it a bit l;onger and if you decide to move here I think you will really like it and make lots of new friends. Just remember to focus on your education first and foremost and then everything else will fall in to place. It sounds like a great adventure for you. Good luck!

It may be scary at first, but college is normal here. Almost everyone goes through it. Teenagers leave a small highschool and face a large college. Its scary for everyone, not just yourself. Go to college websites and find out what your looking for. THey will help you.

its like the first day at a new school. do you remember the feeling then. well its the same now. you will come out of it ahead. you will succeed and you will be happy just give yourself a chance. if you do go and you do fail at least you have the satisfaction of saying i gave it my best. instead of saying to yourself the rest of your life what if i had gone. that would haunt you more than failure that's the real failure.

Sounds like you're just like just about everyone else who's about to go to college. You'll be okay, don't worry. And if you need support, you'll have a huge number of other students to talk to who all know exactly what it's like!

Change is always difficult. It's completely normal to be a little scared. But if we humans failed to do things because we were afraid, then nothing would ever be done. It will be a challenge but I bet your up to it. Good luck to you!
