A) Have 8 hours alone in an unmonitored room with the person who took your loved ones' life with absolutely no consequences so long as they are still alive after the 8 hours.

B) Know that they will spend the rest of their life in prison, occasionally being beaten and anally raped with no chance of parole.

Or

C) Let them take the easy way out by quickly and painlessly executing them on death row?

Just curious because I never understood the death penalty. Either they can live in hell the rest of their life, or can be lethally injected and only endure a short time of discomfort. Hmm...Personally I would much rather be allowed to die than rot in prison for ever being beaten and raped.

I just thought of this. I've heard of stories about kids standing up to bullies and winning but have you ever experienced standing up to a bully, but it didn't work (or you heard of someone who experienced that situation)?

I was being picked on by a girl in school in 6th grade (she made my life a living nightmare) and in science class, I had enough. When she was teasing me, I took a small, thin, rectangular shaped book and whacked her with it. She ran crying to the nurses' office and I had to take her. I did get called in to see the vice principal (who was well aware of what this girl had done to me before) not as a referral but just a talk. The teasing didn't stop there, unfortuately.

Anyone have a story similar to mine? I put this in the psychology section because I didn't know where else to put it.

that the 'powers that be' will show a woman's breasts but not a man's penis? I find that odd.
I say "EQUAL RIGHTS FOR WOMEN"

Nobody knew the answer in the Mental Health section, and my class is online, so it takes forever for me to finally reach my Professor. So, I wondered if those that frequent this section would know. I'm asking because I notice in many of my Psychology text books, they have cases that Freud, Carl Rogers, or other Psychology theorists, conducted. They have the information of the client, and in some instances, the script of their therapy session. Also, in one of my classes, we got to watch a video taped session of one of them....I believe it was Carl Rogers. I just wondered how such information and access, that is supposed to be private, has ended up being shown in classrooms and on tapes? Does confidentiality no longer matter after both have died? If that's the case, can anyone's case and therapy sessions, be published in text books, and shown to students...after the two have died?

It is my nature to see everything from an innovative, out-of-the-box approach. But when I question long-standing traditions, governments, schools, theories, etc. with unconventional, new, innovative ideas, I found great pressure to conform to those ideas which are considered normal, civilized, accepted, or politically correct.

Why do people object so strongly those who chose the harder path of pioneering new ideas? Why are people so eager to silence and hide, banish, or even kill those who depart from their sense of social acceptability? What is so threatening about new ideas?
