I have this friend, he's kind of strange. He's really smart & nice but he is incredibly clingy. He doesn't have any friends besides me (I mean zero), and when I try to introduce him to some new people he gets really shy & awkward. He has no experience w/ girls (no sex, kiss, date) but does talk about them (not gay). Also, he thinks its cute or funny to talk in a baby voice a lot to me. I told him I don't like it, but will say in the baby voice "awwww, you don't think I'm cute? You don't love me?"
Now his mother I think maybe bipolar not to offend anyone bipolar but she is known to have hysterical tirades & be very overbearing.
Also he is a little overweight & self conscious that may explain the dating thing a little.

Is this some sort of a problem like he stopped progressing at a certain age? He also is interested in Harry potter & alice in wonderland & things like that & considering he has a Masters Degree in Engineering, that's a little weird.

Or am I wrong?

I asked this on another area but this is a little different. See this roommate of mine is really tomboyish & always wears old mannish shoes, dirty old pants, and the same 2 or 3 shirts everyday. She doesn't care to brush her teeth after a meal (thus always having food stuck in there). When she eats she's really sloppy like she sucks up spaghetti & drops the rest back onto her plate (so it looks like she's spitting it out). She also farts all the time w/o saying excuse me.
The worst thing she does though is she doesn't want to flush toilet paper (she claims it will "clog" it) so she wipes herself & carries the paper to the main trash but she sometimes forgets and puts the dirty paper down in the bath area & it smears or even drops on the floor & she doesn't seem to care much.
She also never cooks for herself but loves to take whatever I cook & complains that I never "share", and she just lets me do all of the cleaning in the house (because she does it so badly); is she just lazy?

When you are a child adults tend to make you feel like you know nothing, but as you grow up.....finish higschool......go to college.......they listen to you more and respect your ideas but I sometimes think that they fear you a bit because of what you know.........

The youth of today is more informed about things that occur in the world thanks to technology and other factors.

What do you think?

Or anal-retentive people?

Or how about obsessive-compulsive people?

Or bipolar personalities?

Or how about enty-level stalkers?

Isn't it funny that none of these labels were barely used (or used at all) just 20 years ago, and now they're so popular?

i really want to know. i've always found that interesting or "special" people work on their own improvement and are in fact extremely humble and modest. so what about the other type?

thanks.

I work in a "professional" medical establishment. For some odd reason doctors are self-branding themselves with the idea that those around them, not on a doctor status, should be treated as a peon. The last time I checked, what gave them that status was a piece of paper called a medical license, which can be revoked. I understand what sacrifises they may have made to fullfill their accomplishments, but does it give them a right to remain on their "high-horse?" They're human like the rest of us, and they should be treated as such. Should I make it my business to remind them that regardless of their achievements, what they do in life will not guarantee them a better seat to Heaven than the next person?

Mothers, what if this happens to your son, do you care about your son:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4ge0nT2CJPM

Are you aware of the degree of EMOTIONAL damage?
Are you aware of the degree of physical damage?
Are you aware of how COMMON this is becoming?
Do you warn your son about the danger, and do you educate your daughters not to do it unless extreme emergencies?

Why would any thing negative or bad or intolerent said about the islamic faith should not be considered an insult, but a form of freedom of speech, while any negative comment against jewish people is a form of anti semitic behaviour? Why would calling the prophet of islam a pig or an evil person and calling muslims sub human and making drawings about that in magazines and announcements about such things made by important and well respected religious figures like the pop is to be considered normal and an example of freedom and deservant of no reaction from the muslims, while a comment made by an actor(e.g. gibson) while drunk about the jews is considered an example of hatered and anti semitism and unacceptable behaviour?
Why isnist, for several hundereds of years that the jews are the source of all evil, the killers of the christ , and now the same hate is directed to muslims .
If christians are the more civilized, more mature and less violent, why then all this intolerence???

This has to do with the topic of 'Communication,' and whether ones ability to write (& spell) is worth the bother, and as to whether we need to 'Speak clearly’ ...as in 'the ability to communicate with clarity.'

This might not (to some) seem of importance, however......

In a hospital telephone exchange, a Dr / Nurse tells me ‘H/She NEEDS the Cardiac Arrest Team for a patient that is ARRESTING’ (Heart Attack).

But, where do I send the team when I cannot understand the name of the place / department the other person is saying.

This has occurred a few times in my personal experience (to me), and I was only been able to trace the whereabouts via the phone number the call came from (because of my knowledge of the system).

This isn't a Question, but a Statement of a reason for why these things are of importance: though not just within a Hospital.

A 'Billary for a handthang' turned out to 'Battery for a wristwatch.'
(from an American)

Anyone care to add to this….?

But I often get a yearning to be near it, I feel a sadness like you would if you miss something. I want to hear the sea crashing on the rocks and just walk along the shore and paddle. Any ideas why? or does anybody else have this?
