With the existance of Tigons and Ligers (Crosses of Lions and Tigers) does this mean zoos are tampering with nature in a bad way? Do you feel that knowing this could happen that zoos should keep the breeds seperate to prevent it?

We cross dog breeds to get desirable mixes. Will zoos do it to create 'newsworthy' specimens in the zoo for people to come see?

Because lets say you have captivated cats about more than 10, chances are there will be a lot of inbreeding going on.

How does the wild prevent inbreeding?

I am studying insects of the order Phasmatodea (stick insects) since many years, and I am looking for persons who would be interested in collecting eggs of some stick insect species and send them to me.
If interested, then I can send you detailed informations on how to do that. For further informations about these very interesting insects, please see: www.phasmatodea.com
