The bone structure is` honeycombed` very light but strong. Together with oiled feathers which retain air and repel water, air filled lungs and intestine makes Ducks a floating air-bag, covered with feathers. For their apparent size ducks are surprisingly light.

water has a density of 1..
ducks ( just as humans ) have a density of less than one..

everything less than 1 floats, more than one sinks and with the density of 1 will stay wherever u put them...

An object will sink until it displaces an amount of water equal to its own weight.

Meaning their density is either less than that of water, or it has to do with their shape. Pretty sure it's their shape, partly their density.
