Tomorrow I have a school field trip to Camp Caro and the Outdoor Learning Center. My teacher told me to look up the weather and make sure I dress for outdoors but also make sure it is appropriate for the weather. It is supposed to be raining all day over there and he said make sure to wear pants because there are ticks out where we are hiking. I would wear jeans, but they wont dry if it does stop raining, I would wear sweats but they would be soaked through easily and also would not dry easily. What pants should I wear?! Please Help! Thank you!

We have a large change in weather when we travel just a few hundred miles on earth in any direction. What if earths orbit changed just a fraction of one degrees around the sun. It would cause a big change in the climate, like an ice age for example.
Does anyone actually keep tract of our orbit (millions of miles) to calculate if our orbit has changed and by how much? I know this occurs naturaly every few thousands of years or so ,but by how much? When we come out of an ice age, maybe it it gets a little warmer each time at its peak period. Maybe we get a little closer to the sun each time.this cycle occurs. I don't think anyone knows for sure, it's been going on for millions of years and I'm sure our orbit is not as precise as we think it is. Also keep in mind that the temperature of the sun is not always the same. It probably has it's own cycle to.

This question isn't really a specific question at all. It's more hypothetical. But I wanted to see what some of you smart folks out there think. If you took a chemical substance or solid like dry ice and bombarded a strong hurricane with it, do you think there is a possibility to develop a technology that would prevent severe hurricanes from wreaking destruction?

The arctic ice caps are melting 30 years ahead of forceasts. Proof that man can't predict climate on a global scale. My local weatherman couldn't even predict today's weather where I am today, so why should I believe a forcast for the ENTIRE planet? The trend may be leaning toward the earth warming, but its far from fact that man is causing any of it.
