Yes, I think just about everybody has been "hit" by a thundering wave of sound energy also known as "thunder". However, the more dangerous form of energy that originates from a thunderstorm is lightning. If you meant lightning, then I will have to change my answer to "No".

Note that if some of this sound wave energy from a nearby thunderstorm reaches you and a small portion is reflected back. And if somebody nearby happen to hear this sound energy coming back, he would call this weaker sound energy an echo.

You can say I have, but thunder is just the sound that comes after lightning and I have not been hit by lightning before. The reason why I say yes is because of sound waves. If you here something you must be hit by a sound wave.

to take a line out of a song by Montgomery Gentry...."THUNDER'S JUST A NOISE, BOYS, LIGHTNING DOES THE WORK" and i probably had a few close calls with lightning last night, and some really close calls with a major tornado that struck after dark near Larned and Great Bend, Kansas; however those places got off easy, the town of Greensburg, Kansas was 90% destroyed by a tornado Friday May 4, 2007. at last report 7 people had died, 60 were injured, and 1,000 were still unaccounted for.

One may get hit by lightning, but hears thunder. I am sure
the thunder would hurt less than the lightning.

Thunder is sound, and as such anybody in the world who has heard thunder has in fact been "hit" by it.
