polaroid filter is sandwiched between the other 2 with its alignment halfway between the alignment of the others(that is with it's axis making a 45 degree angle with each of the other two)some light goes through. WHY?

I know that a small amt of shorter wavelenghts can get through but there must be more to it. Can you help me out?

in the xy plane about the z axis passing through its center, perpendicular to its length. The mass of each oxygen atom is 2.66 x 10^-26 kg, and at room temperature, the average separation distance between the two oxygen atoms is
2.02 x 10^-10 m (atoms treated as point masses). if the angular speed of the molecule about the z axis is 5.61 x10^12 rad/s, what is the rotational kinetic energy (answer in J)?

This is wrong, & I can't figure why???????
KE=(1/2)*I*omega^2
I=m*r^2 for each atom, r being half the distance that seperates them, so in total 2*m*r^2
omega= 5.61 x 10^12 rad/s

What if I told you that you’ve already answered this question and to prove my point, you’re going to answer it in a few minutes. Can anyone explain this theory?

He worked on this theory most of his life it would be nice to see it finished.

It was suppose to cover every other theory hence the name Theory of Everything.

But I realize it took science a long time just to understand his other theories it could be impossible to at this point in time to even know where to start.

Has anyone even considered trying to finish it?

A coin that has a diameter of 2.95is dropped on edge onto a horizontal surface.?
The coin starts out with an initial angular speed of 12.1 rad/s and rolls in a straight line without slipping. If the rotation slows with an angular deceleration of magnitude 2.29 rad/s^2, how far does the coin roll before coming to rest (answer in m)?

I remember when I was in college 15 years ago my computer science classes were talking about the possibility of using organisms to make computers faster.

I haven't heard anything in awhile about it, has science given up on this idea? Or are they still pursuing it?

1. airplaine flying into head wing travels 1800 miles in 3 hrs and 36 minuntes. on the ruturn flight the same distance is trvelled in 3 hrs. find the speed of the plain in still air and the speed of the wind assuming that both remain constant trhoughout the trip.

Problem 2.

when two forces are applied to a beam newton's law suggegts that the forces F1 F2 and F3 are the solution of the system

3F1 + F2 - F3= 2
F1- 2F2+ F3 =0
4F1-F2+ F3 =0

find the forces

There are people on the internet who claim big health benefits of staring at the sun, purporting it to be IV bagging chi right into the chakra. Sorry to mix metaphors.

Has anyone tried it either at dusk or dawn or through a slit? Sungazers and disbelievers: got science?

I have had the experience of looking directly at the sun for 2 minutes before at around 6pm in the summer and I have had no permanent side effects.

Let's stay away from Galilean-era anecdotes regarding staring at the sun through a telescope; I'm talking about plain-eye, line of sight vision to the sun.

I'd like to know if there is scientific proof that it could be damaging. Something that says the retina/optic nerve tissue has an energy capacity of x and staring at the sun for a time represents >x (greater than x) amt of energy and therefore the eye is physically damaged (even then, that's not to say it doesn't heal).

I cant figure out if i was travelling at the speed of light if my headlight beam would bend around the sides of the car or if it would shine ahead of me. But if it shone ahead of me surely that light would be going faster than me and therefore i would be travelling at less than the speed of light.
