How much energy is used in having a bath compared to having a shower? Assume a 7Kw instant heating shower and a 3 Kw immersion heater that is swithed on some time before you run the bath water.

Energy? Like to keep hot?

Our water runs out of Hot water before the tub is full.

If you want to see which uses more water, try takeing a shower with the bath tub corked or whatever devise keeps the water from running down the drown on your's

If your worried about someone keeping balance or something, a Bath might be better but there are seats to take a shower.

Depends on the size of your bath and the flow rate of the shower. It's generally recognised that, on average, a 5-minute shower will use half the water of a 30-40 gallon bath-full.

bathing is never as clean as taking a shower, if you shower all water and dry skin travels down the body leaving you feeling fresher and cleanrer, also using a shower only consumes on average for a 5 min shower 12.5 liters of water compared with 200 litres on taking a bath
12.5 x365 =4562.5 litres per yr
200x365=73000 per yr
you would save 68437.5 litres a yr by taking a shower. and that is if you are single and live alone. so think how much you would save on your water bill by taking a shower.

I dont know the energy used in either of these but i do like both a shower to feel refreshed and because its so quick and a bath for a nice relaxing feeling with candles round the bath with some wine

Your question is misleading, you wanted to know which is more efficient, to use a shower heater or an immersion heater. "Bath or shower" kinda implies "what's your preference?", and I would have answered "shower is a kind of bathing. there are other types of bathing like sponge bathing and sun bathing".

shower wins hands down every time, you only heat EXACTLY the ammount of water you use. There is no wasted energy.

I don't know the exact sums involved though: nobody's THAT sad

But at least I took the time to read your question , not like some others it would appear?.
