1. airplaine flying into head wing travels 1800 miles in 3 hrs and 36 minuntes. on the ruturn flight the same distance is trvelled in 3 hrs. find the speed of the plain in still air and the speed of the wind assuming that both remain constant trhoughout the trip.

Plane speed = x
Wind speed = y

So, 18(x-y)/5 = 1800
or x-y = 500

And x+y = 600

So, x = 550 mi/h
y = 50 mi/h

Adding 1st and 2nd we get

4F1-F2 = 2
So, 2+F3 = 0
or F3 = -2

Thus 3F1+F2 = 0
F1-2F2 = 2
F1 = 2/7

F2 = -6/7
