THis is the question: Conrad's Taxi Service charges $1.50 for the first mile and $.90 for each additional mile. How far can Mrs.Sheehan go for $20 if she gives the driver a $2 tip?

I have done some work on this but I sont know if im correct or solving it properly.

Steps:
1.) $20 - $2(tip) + $18
2.) $18 - $1.50 ( 1st mile) = $16.50
3.) $16.50/divided by $.90 =18 and 1/3 miles.
4.) 18 1/3 miles + that 1st mile that was 1.50 = 19 1/3 total miles.
Does this sound coorect. Even if it does could youplease explain to me if you know how to solve this in any other ways.
If this is wrong could you also please explain?
THanks <3
