To Factor out the greatest common factor you have to find the The biggest number that goes into both of those and basically every other polynomial.

1. So 36x^2 + 6x Think about it. 36 and 6. Looks like the greatest common factor is 6 because 6*1=6 and 6*6=36
and x^2 and x. The greatest common factor is x because x*1=x and x*x=x^2 . So all you do is write it like the 6x(x+6)

2. So 4x^2+9x Think about it again seems like there is no GCF but their is since 4 and 9 don't go into each other at all. Look at the x terms x^2 and x they go into each other once so it is x (look at the above one same thing for the x's). So the answer is x(4x+9)

the greatest polynomisl in the first is 6x
the greatest in the second is x
if you need help use your math book or try the internet type in factoring polynomials try math.com or purplemath.com either of these could help you learn what you are doing
