I have a few out of a hundred if anyone is willing to help me out and also explain the steps? Thank you in advance!

1) In what quadrant does the point (-2,5) lie?

2)Simplify: 3 times square root of 63

square root of 10 times (square root of 2 plus 2)

3)Find the hypotenuse when two legs of a right triangle are 6cm and 3 cm.

4) Solve for y: y-4 =3
x+3 4

5) factor: x squared-5x+6

6) let y= x squared +2x-3

7) Solve for x by taking the square root of both sides: (x-2) squared = 9

I know it's a lot and thank you again!

Is this derivation really correct? Or is there somewhere a mistake? If so, where?

2 = 1
******

Suppose: a = b

It then follows that

a * a = a * b

a^2 = a * b

a^2 - b^2 = a * b - b^2

(a - b) * (a + b) = (a - b) * b

a + b = b

a + a = a

2 * a = 1 * a

2 = 1

Can someone please explain how to work this problem out and exactly why that is the answer? I did it, but im not sure if I am right and the data that I have does not make sense to me.

Show which is relatively better, and why: a score of 88 on the first test, or a score of 70 on the second test. Scores on the first test have a mean 80 and a standard deviation of 10. Scores on the second test have a mean 64 and a standard deviation of 6.

I did a little chart, but im not even sure if it is right. (I had to add the ex's cause the data came out weird without it. The chat might still not come out right on here for some reason.)

X has coordinates (a , 3a), and Y has coordinates (-5a, 0) Find the coordinates of the midpoint of (XY).
Ok, so I know how to set up the equation so that it's

(a + -5a) /2 , (3a + 0)/2

How do I find out what a is? Do I just set them equal to each other or something because when I did that a ended up equaling zero. (probably did something wrong)
Could someone show me how you work it out?

Thanks

I have not taken math in over 30 years. My degree requires college algebra.I want to do as well as possible on placement math test. I do not expect to be able to take college algebra immediately, but would like to spend no more than 1 semester to prepare for it. Can anyone suggest on-line or other "refresher sites" to go to starting with the basics?

Let M and N be two 9-digit positive integers with the
property that if any one digit of M is replaced by the digit
of N in the corresponding place (e.g., the `tens' digit of M
replaced by the `tens' digit of N) then the resulting integer is
a multiple of 7.
Prove that any number obtained by replacing a digit of N by
the corresponding digit of M is also a multiple of 7.
Find an integer d > 9 such that the above result concerning
divisibility by 7 remains true when M and N are two d-digit
positive integers.

Study this problem. To find the solution for this problem, you must convert measurements from one unit to another. What is the ratio showing how fast the jet carries passengers between Washington, D.C, and Newark, New Jersey? State the time in the denominator as a decimal.
