distance is 215 miles

time is 1 hr, 15 minutes or 75 minutes or 1.25 hours - you should know how I arrived at these; 60 min = 1 hr so 1 hr 15 min = 60 + 15 min; 15 min/(60 min/hr) = 0.25 hr so 1 hr 15 min is 1 hr + 0.25 hr; understand what I did here before your proceed

speed in miles / hour is

215 miles / 1.25 hours

speed in miles / minute is

215 miles / 75 minutes

you can do the calc

1 hour and 15 minutes=

1.25 hours or 5/4 hour

the jet goes 215 miles in 5/4hours

which means it goes 43 miles in 1/4 hour
== 172 miles per hour

there are 60 minutes in an hour
so to find how many miles per second
you divide 60 minutes into 172 mph

= 2.86 miles per minute
(well really that last 6 repeats many times)
=======================

that jet isn't very fast.
Probably because it spends most of its time accelerating and decelerating.
