answer what you know i got most of it done but got stuck on these?
X^2 - 6X+9 < 16

X^2 +2X > 3

X^2-4x-1 > 0

-2x^2+6X+15 = < 0

X^3+2x^2-4x-8 =< 0

2x^3+13x^2-8x-46 >= 6

4X^3-12^2 > 0

2X^3-x^4 =<0

I am trying to figure this out and its driving me nuts because it doesn't come out right. OK ... here goes... I just bought a dog exercise pen. It is made up of 8 panels, each 2 feet wide. If I set it up as a square..meaning..4X4X4X4 feet. So thats 2 feet wide by 2 panels = 4 feet square and that equals 16 Square feet. Right?
But if I set the same 8 panels up as a rectangle, its 3 panels on each side = 6 feet and 1 panel on the end = 2 feet how come it comes to 12 square feet instead of 16'? Its the exact same 8 panels, that are each 2 feet wide. Its making me crazy trying to figure out why? Thanks alot.

There is a very long hallway, longer than the eye can see. Along the midline of its ceiling, there are light bulbs, spaced a few feet apart, for as long as the eye can see. A string hangs from each light bulb; a pull of the string turns the light bulb on, and another pull turns the light bulb off.
A woman begins walking down the hall and pulls every single string, turning all of the light bulbs on. A second woman begins walking down the hall and pulls every second string (2,4,6,...), thereby turning off each of those light bulbs. And then a third woman begins to pull every third string (3,6,9,...), thereby turning some light bulbs on and others off. And then a fourth woman does the same (4,8,12,...), and then a fifth woman (5,10,15), and so on. Eventually, the women are only pulling strings that are farther away than can be seen.
Of those that can be seen, which light bulbs are on?

You don't have to give me the answer, but how would you go about answering this?

Find the point at which the line intersects the given plane:
x=1 + 2t, y =4t, z=2-3t; x+2y-z+1 = 0

Mmk I just need sort of a reminder of the steps.
Heres the problem:
9y+4=2y+25
I know to subtract 4 from four and 25 and that leaves me with:
9y=2y+21
Do I divide 2y bye 9y?

I need help on a piecewise function:

f(x) = { x if - 5
{ (x+2)^2 if - 3 < x
{ -x + 4 if x > 0

1. Which of the following can be conclude about limit x --> 0 f(x)

a) The limit does not exist since the right- sided and left- sided limits approaching x = 0 differ.

b) The limit does not exist because the function is not defined at x = 0.

c) The limit exists, and it’s equal to four.

d) The left-sided limit exists, but the right- sided limit does not. Thus, the limit does not exist.

2. What type of discontinuity occurs at x = -3?

a) No discontinuity exists at x=3.

b) Jump discontinuity.

c) Infinite discontinuity.

d) Removable discontinuity.

3. Determine the limit x --> infinity f(x) = ???

Thanks in advance...

A -mile track for racing stock cars consists
of two semicircles connected by parallel straightaways (see
the figure). In order to provide sufficient room for pit crews,
emergency vehicles, and spectator parking, the track must enclose an area of 100,000 square feet. Find the length of the
straightaways and the diameter of the semicircles to the nearest foot. Recall: The area A and circumference C of a circle of diameter d are given by A= pie times diameter squared divided by 4 and c= pie times diameter

i have no clue where to even start I am lost...
